13:21 "one of the most difficult types is the intuitive introvert. the introvert is more difficult because he has intuitions as to the subject factor, of the inner world. that is very difficult to understand, because what he sees are most uncommon things, and he doesn't like to talk about them - if he's not a fool, for he would spoil his own game by telling what he sees, because people won't understand it." 17:50 "such a person cannot possibly speak of their experiences, because everybody would think they're absolutely crazy. if the introverted intuitive were to speak what they really perceive, then practically nobody would understand, they'd be misunderstood. and so they learn to keep things to themselves, and you hardly ever hear them talking of these things. that is their greatest advantage, and enormous advantage in other ways. for instance, when they come into the presence of a person they do not know, they certainly have inner images, and those inner images give a more or less complete picture of who that person is. 19:50 "and so the introverted intuitive in a way has a very difficult life, although one of the most interesting lives, but it is often difficult to gain their confidence. the things that are interesting to them are utterly strange to the ordinary individual.

True, I often come up with realizations or "rules of thumb" about how to face life and assert myself into reality. Also, when i meet someone automatically think : oh, I've already met this kind of person, so i kinda tell what their personality is gonna be like.

I would type myself as as INTJ. I read the comment before getting to it in the actual video. This is spot on, when I try to explain to people how I see the nature of reality, they just say wow, you have some imagination, or they will think I am fooling with them. I constantly guard what comes out of my mouth. I am also extremely disagreeable in nature, which can be rough at times. The introverted intuition seems to come from my grandfather, which I see in his sons, and also a handful of his grandchildren. We are often seen as the black sheep in our families across the three generations, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My mind gives me a rich experience everyday. I have always loved Carl G. Jung since a kid. Such a pure thinker, truly uninhibited. I wonder what type he he identified with the most. My guess is that he too used Ni as his dominant function.

Actually you can. I am INFP and my thinking function started developing fast after when I was 13 and very rapidly between 15-17 (I am 17 now) I developed different world views, I observed the behaviour of people and made some opinions of my own. You need to have a good observation. Once you start getting closer to becoming adult, you will start learning more and more about the world. Especially during 16-17 you will learn many new things. Edit- But off course you need to study to develop your thinking function. It's not some magical change. The more you learn things the better your thinking power becomes and the more intelligent you start becoming.

He had a not-insignificant amount of help and his work as a psychoanalyst would have required him to speak to people and observe them for hours and hours every day. It is said that everyone is an amateur psychologist out of the necessity of getting along with other people, so even in the most germinal phases of psychology before Jung there was a trail of psychological literature and considerations going back to the origins of human culture. The patterns were always there and it's dubious that Jung was the first to find them. From my limited understanding, his unique contribution was determining that introversion was on equal footing with extroversion and was not a neurotic mode of being in of itself.

The clarification Jung makes about the functions being tendencies rather than rules is immensely important. It’s observable that certain individuals have a very strong orientation primarily toward the introverted intuition he speaks of, while others usually display its preference more mildly. His explanation begins to sound incredibly tragic when he states that the former of such individuals can almost seldom express themselves truly without leading to both confusion and judgment. It is as though “they learn to keep things to themselves” because they receive social punishment for doing otherwise. The phenomena of their interest are “utterly strange” to the average person and therefore they spend most of their time around others while metaphorically listening/dancing to music that almost nobody else seems to hear. It is somewhat relieving to hear him explain that this type of personality comes with it’s own advantages, but the seriousness in his description hints at a sense of deep sympathy. As one who feels described here, I deeply sympathize as well.

One of the things I love about Jung's approach to psychology is his emphasis on the collective unconscious. It's fascinating to think that we all share certain archetypes and patterns of behavior, even across different cultures. That's why I've decided to create a channel exploring this topic too - there's so much to unpack!

I have introverted intuition as my dominant function. Its hard, there where times when my ex husband would move towards me and I would just have a random image pop into my head eg. a spider crawling low on the carpet, a snake hiding under the chair, a scorpion etc. My nervous system would contract and I could not understand what was going on with my body as I would feel burning sensations whenever he was around. When I later got hold of this mans text message history only after the divorce I saw that he was a serial cheater who had no remorse, had no intention of ever remaining faithful to me, and who went out of his way to pursue other woman despite their initial resistance. A true predator who could not even be honest with me even after the divorce.

So it was validated physically. 2. went out of body - saw that my step sister had died her hair blonde - when I came across her on facebook she had died her hair blonde. She was a red head. 3. many many out of body experiences, it occured to me that you could get any one elses body and see through their eyes 4. When I give Reiki distance healing to people I will pick up physical ailments that people have and it will be confirmed. one example - picked up a lump in the left of my neices neck, had not been physically in contact with her, her father confirmed that she was in fact sick and had a lump on the left. 5. Having dreams of kitten dying suddenly and then the kitten dying like the next week or so. very sad! 6. Speaking to strangers and randomly feeling their heart chakra, feeling their despiration, heart ache, financial woes, insecurity, feeling a guys stomach turn if he is attracted to me. Insane. So bad that I want to get away from them because it is the worst invasion of privacy, I don't want anyone to pick up that sort of stuff about me. Its not normal. Maybe my brain is decoding something it sees physically and then does something. who knows. Its just hard. I remember going to the dentist and as soon as I took off my mask I felt his kundalini rising from his groin to his stomach, I actually get to feel all of that, yipee for me, and I have to keep a straight face whilst dealing with all of this. Hope this helps!

It is also very difficult to be an intuitive extrovert feeler type with introverted intuition as a second most developed cognitive function. I can say (ENFJ). We are extroverted but many people take us like we are less intelligent because intuitive feeler logic and intelligence is not very known and liked out there. We speak in terms that many people don't understand and especially sensors are lost in these conversations. I have many INFJ friends but would appreciate some extroverted intuitive feelers friends as well.

Actually, Jung would have considered "ENFJs" as Fe and Ne, not Fe and Ni. The IEIE/EIEI function stacks were created long after Jung and Myers, and Myers only really talked briefly about an EIII/IEEE function stacking, which referenced Jung's take on an *unconsciously* developed function stack. This, this implies that Jung's "differentiated" stack would be more akin to either an "IIEE/EEII" stack. Also, Jung mentioned that Extroverts and Introverts are far from pure E/I. In fact, many of these people don't have a differentiated orientation, meaning that we're left only with T, F, N and S. Afterall, Introversion and Extroversion are functions by themselves, not required parts of the functions. They merely denote orientation. Therefore, you can actually be an "ambivert," or rather a very blended I/E that circles between those two modes of consciousness. So, for ENFJs, they would either be FN types, or FeN types, with F going first because Feeling is inherently rational compared to N's irrationality. If you're curious, unconscious doesn't mean "never used." Jung actually states that the unconscious has a significant amount of control over us. So for an INFP (an NiF type,) their unconscious SeT side indicates a heavy need to try and reach the "truth" behind reality, a truth they may never truly find because they live in the world of meanings, internal change, archetypes and artistic impressions/interpretation. Likewise, ENFJs might resist intense, concrete logic presented by Thinking and Sensation. IDK, I just figured that considering we're talking about Jung, that I'd present what he said. I think it's really interesting, but I'd love to hear your thoughts :)
