I think it wouldn’t be desireable to give your dreams to just anyone who will be able to interpret them, as these are very personal things. And this interview is from 1959. Imagine someone in 2059 talking about the 1970s. It's like ancient history at that point - barely anyone from that time is alive. You should watch Betrand Russell's interview from 1952, if you haven't already. You just don't hear stuff like "My grandfather was born during the French Revolution" anymore.

Alan Watts on meeting Jung in 1958: I was enormously impressed with a man who was obviously very great, but at the same time, with whom everyone could be at ease. Jung managed to have wisdom and sanctity in such a way that when other people came into his presence they didn’t feel judged. They felt enhanced encouraged and invited to share in a common life. And it was a sort of twinkle in Jungs eye. It gave me the impression that he knew himself to be just as much a villain as everybody else. Jung had a hintergedanken in the back of his mind. It showed in a twinkle in his eye. He knew himself, knew the “element of irreducible rascality” in himself, strongly and clearly and lovingly that he would never project the devil in himself upon somebody else, upon the scapegoat. This made Jung an integrated character, thoroughly with himself. Having seen and accepted his own nature, he had a kind of unity and absence of conflict within his own character. He was the sort of man who could feel anxious and afraid and guilty without being ashamed of feeling this way. In other words, he understood that an integrated person wasn’t someone who had eliminated feelings of guilt or anxiety from his life, who is fearless and wooden and a kind of sage of stone. He is a person who feels all these things but has no recrimination against himself for feeling them. Poorly transcribed by me from kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKaTlJKudbm1mag.html

I love Karl Jung. "Man cannot stand meaningless life ." But how can man find meaning?

"the only real danger that exists is man himself he is the great danger and we are pitifully unaware of it, we know nothing of man far too little, his psyche should be studied, for we are the origin of all coming evil!" C G Jung

Sure, Kriss. Mark was watching the video and, with no apparent reason, he started reading your comment as he heard Jung's voice say the quote. To a commonly instructed mind this may appear as a coincidence (which it could be; depends on the situation). To Jung, this could be a case of synchronicity, which is two events happening . I understand Jung thought of synchronicity as a manifestation of acausality, but I haven't been able to dig too deep into his writings on the topic. Still, there's a ton of info about it on the internet. As to what I consider to be a synchronous event, I'm still trying to figure it out. Sometimes apparent synchronicity occurs when our unconscious mechanisms pick up information without us registering it, e.g., you're reading a text about something you're interested in, an idea pops up in your mind, and ten lines later you read exactly the same you were thinking of. This is obviously not synchronous, but perhaps it tells us something about real synchronicity and I'll show you why at the end. An actual case would be all-too-common: you think about someone that you haven't seen in a long time, only to pick up your phone and have it instantly ring with their call, or you could meet them without previous arrangement in a strange place that very same day or the next. To call events like these a coincidence is a quick answer, a skeptical reflex which I do not agree with. Now, how does synchronicity happen? I don't know. What it seems to do is put into our sphere of awareness things that our unconscious mind deems necessary for us. Perhaps the skeptics are right: it's confirmation bias and you're not actually seeing two unrelated events. Instead, your brain is associating two similar events and giving them joint meaning. But this assertion is irrelevant if we don't ask why it's happening. Is it a glitch, an error in our brains? Or is our brain communicating by redirecting attention to events in the world which are equivalent with internal issues that need addressing? That could be the work of the unconscious, but this is a very moderate position compared to other people's view on the facticity of the phenomenon. I guess that for the time being it's up to each one to determine if meaningful coincidences are bias or reality. There's a paper I'm going to start reading soon: "The Self, the symbolic and synchronicity: virtual realities and the emergence of the psyche," by George B. Hogenson. Perhaps you could check it out too. EDIT: I didn't realize it came out this long, haha.
