I feel the froch-groves rivalry captured the imagination off the casual fans and then Hearn capitalised and the last 10 years or so have been massive for UK boxing.

Definitely, that was the first massive fight, made even more massive after the controversy of the first fight. Groves was a really good fighter and came of age in the first Froch fight, I was shocked how good he was

I’ve seen him in 5/6 interviews be asked about the Smith loss and in every one it’s clear his shoulder wasn’t right but he still credits Callum Smith and doesn’t make excuses. I’ve got a lot of respect for that. Humble dude, no agenda who along with Froch paved the way for the likes of Joshua and co to have Wembley as even an option. 👍

I was lucky enough to be very close to all of the build up and behind the scenes action for both the Froch fights. Looking back, it was a golden time. Fair play to Groves. I'm gutted he's retiring. Such an honest bloke. The first fight with Froch was masterclass; one of very few fights I've watched multiple times. I have to admit I agree with Froch though. He was never the same fighter after the second loss. The situation with Adam Booth didn't help either. So pleased he's retiring as a champ but his talent was really squandered by three people. Booth, Foster and Fitzpatrick.
