Chris Eubank begins by showing a video, which is shown to the audience just before he begins his speech, he says it is to show that he is belligerent.
He says his belligerence is intelligent as he fights to win and if he can't win he doesn't fight.
He quotes Rudyard Kipling's 'If':
"If you can keep your head whilst all about you
are losing theirs, and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;..."
He says all you need is this to live your life by because everyone will love you, respect you and be your friend. He goes on to talk about truth, saying there's kindness, humility and dignity in truth. He gives examples of courage saying that if someone has a bogie on their nose and they don't know about it then it takes courage and greatness to tell them.
He talks about his lose against Michael Watson where he was concussed in the 11th Round, he said he got up even though the fight was lost because it was the right thing to do. Chris expresses how his Jamaican upbringing kept him on the right track, following this he quotes Nelson Mandela saying, "Be true to yourself". When he was younger he was suspended 18 times from one school before being expelled for protecting kids from being bullied. Even though he knew he would get the belt when he got home he still protected them because he knew he was doing the right thing.
He finishes by mentioning the Iraq war and the protest he made outside Downing Street where he was arrested.

His bollocks isn't compelling, they aren't really allowed to just walk out. Or at the very least they're obliged to stay there listening to his utter bullshit. I used to like the man but I say this; don't play intelligent if you can't back it up. If he wants to prove he's intelligent do a degree course on the OU, anything, or shut up. This is all a load of anecdotal, inane shit that doesn't go in any specific direction, he's just saying a load of unconnected shit he thinks sounds clever. He's NO Muhammad Ali and probably scared of covering certain topics where he may be quizzed, so he plays safe talking even more rubbish.

Chris Eubank's regard for Rudyard Kipling speaks volumes about the man and his appreciation of quality.
I remember Chris driving his truck into some gates in protest of the Iraq war - he warned of it coming to Britain. How right he was, that was courageous.

it is something he has worked on since he was young. his cockney accent used to come out occasionally back in the day - usually when emotions were running high like immediately after winning whilst still in the ring

Here is a man, in the truest sense. A great sportsman, a man who entertained us, made us laugh and made us think, and who now reveals himself to be a born teacher. Thank you, Mr Eubank, for being one of my role models when I was growing up.
Anyone having a go at Eubank needs to remember that he went out there and excelled at life. If you can take absolutely nothing from a man as accomplished as him then I say you are either a snob or a fool.

I totally agree. I listen to a lot of boxers and think Chris is the only one that can grab his audience intellectually. He is not a cocky fighter.
Here's the gist of it for those who don't get it: *Truth is great. Be kind.* In order to really know this we have to live it, namely, have truth, kindness and greatness in our hearts. That requires a huge courage sufficient to confront every bully we see in our life however powerful they are. Not easy, but that's what allows a man to teach his son (and everyone else) how to be a kind man. my comment here is: Kids in the video probably don't understand this yet, just as most of us adults. Champions are rare. Hope when we are old like he is now we'll know and will be able to teach others.
He does seem to ramble a little bit but l love Chris and his voice is the best. So relaxing.

gotta take my hat off to mr eubanks for his stance on Iraq how many sports star's or celebrities would risk their reputation to highlight an injustice I wish more of them would embody bravado and do something I felt the same way about the crisis in Libya, but did I do anything?unfortunately no! True greatness is when high profile personalities like Mr Eubanks dare to risk all and confront the greatest ruling powers on the planet, you then leave a lasting legacy to inspire other's in the future respect ...

Chris is the only guy in the ring that embraces the Philosophy of life. He is a master boxer a very talented person as well. His martial art philosophy is better than the Kung Fu Masters I know don't practice what they preach, Chris does. He's the real deal!
I have much respect for Chris, for what he has achieved and for his individuality. I don't agree with his idea of greatness or courage and maybe I've missed a greater message but in my opinion the definition of courage is the ability to do something that frightens you; if telling someone they have a bogey in their nose doesn't frighten you, is this really courage? I know he's using this as an example but I think it holds true for other examples.
