This woman is what they call “salt of the earth “ in my opinion. Beautiful soul. It hurt my soul to see how frightened and uncomfortable she was testifying. It hit me so incredibly hard as she testified at how many people this man has hurt. I recall at the start of this case doubting that he committed the crimes he is accused of, yet I was just one of the many people that this man has been able to dupe throughout his life. The truth is, we have all done things that we are ashamed of, all of us. But he truly lived his life for himself and himself only.He committed the ultimate sin for what? I really pray that this lovely woman can heal from this trauma and that she has many blessings coming her way.

Sweet lady. She seems to love Alex and his family. That's what I see. They treated her well, sounds like. She responded that yes Alex had come to the house at those hours her shift "off and on." This helped Alex and defense. Prosecutor did not do well with Shelly's testimony. Noticed she's more relaxed once defense attorney appears to question her. But still she's not able to recall and remember clearly what is asked of her. I don't think she's going to help much at least perhaps it may end up helping Alex. Actually in the end after watching Shelly's testimony I think she helped Alex. Also keep in mind she doesn't get much luxurious long hours of sleep. Lack of sleep can make it difficult to think clearly plus can cause the mind to feel anxious and nerve-wrecking thought patterns. Reason she could be anxious. Plus the emotional bond to the family and the murders. Crime is exhausting! All the witnesses forced to sit in and be inconvenienced.

Do southerners call tarp “tart”? I get that she loved working for the family, they’re “good people”, she’s nervous (I bet most people are when testifying in a murder trial), she’s conflicted about the facts/lying for the defendant, yada yada yada, but my God! This witness was absolutely difficult to follow! And, she just flat out ignored two questions about Alex’s “30-40 minutes” statement. Also, why tf does everyone call him “Alek/Alec”, when his name is spelled Alex?!?! This has bothered me since this story/case broke in 2021!

So was the prosecutor low key trying to say Alex was trying to bribe her with paying for the wedding? And the comment about him knowing the principal, I think that was meant more to intimidate her more than anything. And I’m assuming asking her about the mark on Alex’s face may have alluded to maybe a scope hitting him when firing a weapon?

It is my impression that this witness was honest and credible..I'm at a loss as to why the lawyer had her family members stand up..I felt that was inappropriate. With that aside..she was hard to understand and at times seemed reluctant to testify against Alex when it came to the hard questions.

Because his son, Paul’s trial for driving under the influence causing the death of Mallory Beach was coming up, and his wife Maggie & Paul were also being sued for the same boat accident. He had most of his property under Maggie’s name, and they were about to lose everything, in addition to him being under massive debt. This is just a small capsule of his family’s many problems, including his vast financial crimes that were being revealed, his son Buster’s possible involvement in the brutal murder of a classmate, the possible involvement of his sons in the death of the family housekeeper/nanny. Killing Maggie & Paul makes the criminal & civil trials go away.

This attorney is not speaking clearly nor does he understand her. He is the one that needs hearing aids. It's already hard enough on her and he is not adept at asking questions or reading the witnesses body language. He needs to tell her it's okay, hand her a Kleenex, encourage her. He should be helping her since she's helping them. He's disorganized. Maybe he's nervous too.

Another theory is Alex escaped somehow and witnessed the murders. He too was a target. Quickly knowing police will be there after he reports this he grabs his stash of drugs and cash removes from property. Wraps his secrets up in a blue "tarp" and drives to mom's house to hide the loot. He's a target. Possibly he pist off the wrong ppl, ripped them off and or owed money that he doesn't have. This was a hit

That is a huuuuge stretch. If you’re just watching this trial and haven’t been reading the local news for the past 3 years, you can’t really make a judgement on what has been revealed so far. This story goes back to the 2019 boat crash, in which Alec tried to frame his son’s friend for the crime. There were going to be obstruction of justice charges against Alec & possibly his father, as well as charges against Paul for a death while he was driving a boat under the influence. This is the main motive for the murders. Alec’s financial house of cards was tumbling down bc of Paul’s upcoming trial later that year. And Maggie was also going to be sued, and she owned most of their properties. He was facing losing everything. And the tarp was actually the blue rain jacket covered with gunshot residue that he brought to his mother’s house. On top of that, his multiple financial crimes were being exposed. In addition, there was a lot of talk that the sons may have caused the death of his housekeeper/nanny. His oldest son, Buster, has been mentioned many times through crime tip lines regarding the brutal murder of one of his classmates, Stephen Smith. The Murdaughs have been committing & getting away with crimes for decades. I have zero sympathy for Alec. He’s been handed everything his entire life and has gotten away with these crimes for years. He killed his wife and son because of greed. This was the only way he could protect his assets. He’s an awful awful man.
