She resents being questioned. Her anger really got the best of her obvious by her shaking and the way she kept opening the water and drinking. If she was so confident in her finds why was she so nervous. With her 20 years and such an expert. She missed many opportunities to be more efficient like checking for residues and checking or X-ray the brain. Too many mistakes. Too big of a hurry.

This lady is incredible. When I was a student nurse here in Scotland, I had the opportunity to spend time with various Doctors who, like this wonderful lady, were passionate about what they did and were more than happy to spend time explaining things to you if they thought you were interested. I watched her first testimony and was impressed with her account and I was doubly impressed at the way she refused to be baited or intimidated by the defence. Once again, she and other witnesses for the Prosecution are a credit to their county.

Big difference between performing the actual autopsy versus viewing photographs. Poot is intentionally rattling her. He's been able to suss up her personality from her last testimony (she is no Mark Tinsely) and custom prepare his questions for Dr. Riemer to make her feel defensive. I wish Waters would have objected more. I wish she would have help up a photo of a contact shotgun wound to the head. Believe me, the head is blown off and unrecognizable. Even when she would be reprimanded, the jury can't unsee that (remember Jodi Arias trial). I personally view extremely graphic photos, and view them as a medical student would, not a gore fan. I hope the jury sees through Poot's arrogant attack to Dr. Riemer. I also sense Poot is misogynistic.

The defense attorney is attempting to associating a contact wound with the victims' manner of death, but Dr. Riemer has explained clearly again and again that she performed the autopsy in person and the type of injury and damage is NOT consistent with a contact wound originating at the head. Rather, the damage is indicative of an entrance wound created by a gun approximate 3 feet away, starting near the shoulder and exiting the head. Yet, the defense attorney continues to try to associate the wounds with contact by referring to a text and photos that are irrelevant. Surely everyone understands that the most accurate and thorough autopsy is the one done in person on the body, not judgements made at a later date by examining several photographs.

So you're telling me he shot them both with two different guns then got rid of the guns and the clothes. Then went and took a shower and got rid of Maggie's phone all while calling Maggy Paul and other people and talking to his brother and others. He did all this within 4 minutes there's absolutely no way. Also if he did kill them there would have been blood left over in the shower in which would have been evidence but I don't think they tested it cuz if they did they would know if he washed the blood off or not. If he wash the blood off outside with a hose they're more than likely would've been blood on the hose or a puddle of water with blood way wash off with blood matter and they didn't find that either so your theory doesn't make sense

So therefore how can she testified her something she's never seen in life with confidence. She's so unprofessional in the way she's acting and getting upset and nervous and it's because she knows they're questioning her logic. Both men that didn't know each other that had more knowledge more professional mannerisms testified and agreed with her on all but one fact and she wanted to argue. Also if he killed them there should have been blood in his shower so they didn't find any probably didn't even test for it. Just on her keeping notes I understand that. When I was a inventory manager I would check bins to see if the inventory matched the system inventory. I would write it down for my personal use then Id checked all the different bins with the same part. So in the end someone would put they pulled that part number from one bin when actually they pulled it from another. I kept notes so at the end I could find out if they pulled they parts from the other bins or if they forgot to enter it in the system. We would have for an example 60 parts missing or extra 60 parts but I kept notes so at the end I could determine what could of happened or what did happen. Those were my notes that I wrote down to keep up with step to step to figure out the ending state of what happened. Sounds like this lady started at the VERY BEGINNING keeping notes to either rule out one thing or add to her notes. To me that's called being thorough and making sure she does her job correctly. Yes this was a long comment but some ppl doesn't keep notes and at the end they have nothing to look back too unless you start over. My boss didn't ask me to keep notes I did my job thorough so my job would be correct so it was no need for my boss to ask for my scribbled notes I kept. EDIT... I know a death is way worse than the job I did but, honestly I don't care what kind of job you have that you are over it's essential that you keep your personal notes so you don't have to guess about anything in the end if questioned. You can rule something out in your notes when you go back and correct them in the end if you have your written dated notes to go back too. Honestly this is why she is saying what she did and she's the type I'd want over anything that was a person project whether simple or something horrific such as death because she cares about what she's doing.

I've worked with pathologist's before and they tend to be people that can compartmentalize, but they are very respectful in handling the bodies and their expectations of how others assisting them might handle autopsies. Highly intelligent people.

Rewatching this about 6 months after the trial. I absolutely loved how she stood her ground with Harpootlian and defended her conclusions. She gave some amazing testimony!

I’m inclined to refute the direct shot to Paul’s head being square to the back of his head. I think that such a shot would have blown off part of his face which was found to be completely intact. I agree with her completely on that point.

Harpootlian insists that Paul had a contact wound which no matter how many times Riemer tells him the face would have been blown apart with a contact wound... she's done 5500 autopsies. Not sure why it really matters whether he was shot up the neck or down from the top of the head. I would have thought who did the shooting and from where and if there was one or two shooters would have been the important questions. Does it matter really what kind of wound Paul had? I don't understand the preoccupation by the Defense to discuss how his brain left his head. What am I missing? Thank goodness the prosecution have finally got it together and are asking the right questions. The last lawyer asking Mr. Kinsey all those questions was incredible. He really did his homework. Lets get this murderer put away..

Yea but how many autopsies us she performed with a contact shotgun wound from the back of the head with birdshot? I bet you all of her autopsies of shotgun contact wounds to the head were suicides where the barrel of the gun was placed directly inside of the persons mouth or under their chin which would cause the face to fall apart and cause a fracture to the skull and brain. But I guarantee you that she’s not done 1 autopsy besides Paul’s where the contact wound was from behind and at angle angle i.e. not directly at center of the back of the head but instead it was aimed at an angle and that’s why it spared his face. It’s simple. And makes a lot more sense than her theory. If he was shot from the side his face would have far more injury from the pellets from the pellets expanding his specially from 3-4 ft away which is states theory.
