My favorite part is the Star Wars reference at 12:18.

When dark heart said to Christie, if you knew what was good for you, you would have left me. Gives me the notion that he is grown on Christie. He relied on her a lot which makes him feel happy within even though he doesn't want to admit it. Which is the reason that eventually he has grown to care for Christie enough to save her. So yes dark heart has Finally Found Love. Still, I think this pairing should be better in a fanfic than the Care Bears of all franchises....

Goku is more fleshed out and rational than the fucking Care Bears

Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation is very clearly both a prequel *and* a sequel to the original Care Bears Movie. The original movie takes place in the interim after the Caretakers move the Bears to Care-a-lot and the Cousins to the Forest of Feelings and before they get back together to stop Dark Heart. The Great Wishing Star (i.e. Non-denominational Star God, whose name we learn in the Nelvana TV series) narrates that Care-a-lot and the Forest of Feelings are timeless places. Time stood still to give the Care Bears time to grow up. Like the Room of Hyperbolic Space and Time Chamber. Totally makes sense. The TV series happens after the Movie II.

That would have been more dignified than his current ordeal in Star TP.

When he mentioned that we had all seen this film, I honestly believe I never had even heard about it, much less seen it. But from the second Dark Heart appeared in his kid form, memories came rushing in from my childhood about this movie and how much that character disturbed me as a kid.

I'd say that Darkheart almost drowning is a sign of him becoming more human, but I don't think this movie is that clever.

Why do I ship Dark heart and Christie? I'm internet trash.

Question: If Dark Heart became a real boy at the end, how would he survive if he doesn't have parents to take care of him? Pinocchio at least had Geppetto, his creator. Am I the only one that thought that, despite darkhart having no real motive, he had the aspects of a cool villain? I mean don't get me wrong it's a carebears movie for crying out loud but to a kid he has the looks of a real villain. Mostly because the actor playing him puts a lot of effort into his performance. Still a carebears movie but I always liked him.

Make note, the voice of Tenderheart Bear was Billie Mae Richards, also known for voicing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The voice of Christy is done by Cree Summer, who later voiced Elmira on Tiny Toon Adventures/Pinky and The Brain, Penny on Inspector Gadget, Numbah Five on Codename: Kids Next Door and Hello Kitty, her first cartoon voice acting job.

OK, explanation. Nelvana had animated the Care Bears slightly differently in this film, in preparation for The Care Bears Family TV Series that began airing in September 1986, this film was released in March of that year. So yeah, it's more of a reboot then a sequel, it was only given the II in it's name, as it was the second Care Bears theatrical release. Hopefully that clears up some of the confusion.

Yep! “Care Bears” became an animated series later that year following the two huge animated flops. It was first aired on ABC on Saturday morning which ran for about 2 seasons, and then went into syndication in the late 1980’s. Following the animated series, they also made “Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland” and it bombed! That brought the end of the “Care Bears” movie trilogy. The first movie was by Samuel Goldwyn, the second was by Sony/Columbia, and the third was by Cineplex Odeon. Those were three different film distributors who made these garbage.

In addition to the second “Care Bears” movie came “My Little Pony: The Movie” which was released later that same year in 1986. To get back to the Care Bears. The two films were based off the American Greetings line like Strawberry Shortcake did, and it was made by Those Characters From Cleveland Inc., another American Greetings company at the time.

Patrick Buckley and the thing is Patrick Stewart played poop 💩 in the emoji movie so he probably up to do that too.

As a kid I always just kind of accepted each carebears property was different from the other...Funshine was a boy in the CGI movies but was a girl in the cartoon. (In fact TONS of carebears changed gender depending on the property.) Villains changed, First it was Cold heart, (Who looked like an Ice king rip off. XD) then it was no heart and his niece dark heart in this movie, the creepy book in the other movie and that rat guy in journey to joke a lot. With this franchise you kinda have to accept there is no continuity. XD as a child I didn't really care since you could watch any episode and understand what was going on. As a kid you just kinda accept there's a giant star god thing (Who is a woman in the CGI movies...again gender change.) you just kinda accept Dark heart is a weird evil creature that came from nowhere. XD Hell I thought he was awesome as a kid.

I used to watch this movie all the time with my sisters. And honestly, the whole part at the end where they tell us to say, "we care" was one of the funniest things we'd ever seen.

"Oh god, maybe I AM the devil." That cracked me up 😆

I have a theory: the original Care Bears movie takes place in between this one. This would explain why the bears and cousins were together in this movie, but in different worlds in the last movie. Maybe something happened while True Heart and Noble Heart were transporting the babies to different places that caused the cousins to lose their tummy symbols. That would also explain why they have them in this movie and are official members of the family. But that’s just a theory, a film theory.

More rainbow bridges, reckless child endangerment, Loki shapeshifting, questionably possible offspring, sea serpents... I'm now certain Care Bears are in fact the reincarnations of the Aesir. I'm not sure if that's hilarious, depressing or epic.

As a little girl I kind of had a crush on Darkhart, that is until I saw Atreyu 😊

I remembered when I called into their second (and last) annual fund raiser on their website, and donated enough to get a call. I asked if Doug was aware of all the care bear sequels and was assured he knew and plans for them. Since then, he's done nearly every one and I"m happy. You'll have to dig up the recording of the fund raiser to know when I called in, to mention it :3

Oh my God this movie has inspired my entire writing career. Everything that I write or ever written is influenced by this movie. Because he is bad and she sees it but still decides to go with him and safe him from drowning. She still decided to trust and sees the good in him. And he can't believe how pure she is, following him into the darkness and still being so pure to him after all he did to her and her friends. And then when he has her heart and the power to kill her, he sees her. He sees her goodness and changes his mind. I love it. This is the essence why I incarnated on earth for

One thing i give this movie credit for, he's not just another evil guy who gets defeated by a carebear stare, he gets character development.

That name is only edgy when it's attached to a heroic character. For a villain, it's typical.

6:35 To be fair, in the movie, True Heart was originally going to go back to get Christy by herself, but once the caring meter started going down more, thinking it was due to dark heart, both her and Noble Heart had to go there together. Which was why John and Dawn were left with the babies alone. Not only that, but they didn't exactly force them to do it. True Heart ASKED John and Dawn if they can take care of the babies. And they sort of agreed to do it too, saying "I think so. Sure!" Now, it was weird how they casually walked out after John and Dawn agreed, but they still had a reasonable explanation as to why they left John and Dawn alone with the babies
