Hi there. I have an E46 320i and I had a big problem that took me a long time to figure out. I checked the battery, the starter and even replaced the ignition switch. No crank and no start. I discovered by accident that the fault was in the immobilizer. It had a broken capacitor. The repair cost €0.50 but took two years to discover. No need to replace the immobilizer. It was just repaired. To this day the car has never broken down again.

This week when i wanted to make a drive i noticed my electric doorlocks didnt respond as well as the interior lighting didnt go on, then engine did not start and got green flashing key on my Honda Civic. I checked most fuses i could reach and according to manual, but none of them seem to be burned. I cant do proper metering since i dont have a multimeter. What i find weird is that the doorlocks and interior light do not respond anymore. This is an old 2001 European model, i doubt the door mechanism reads the key chip. Could it be that the immobilizer halted working when i turned off the engine the last time. Normally when i turn off the engine i see that key also flash, that now doesnt happen anymore.

I need a scanner to reset my immobilizer it keeps loosing sync every 6 to 10 days I've been to a dozen mechanics replaced DME, EWS, key, key ring, fuses, sensors, relays and still nothing. Can you recommend a scanner that can align my ews with the Dme. Thanks. I've been using the shops computer to reset it it reset every time. Please help

I have a 2006 x3 and my immobilizer is saying it’s been immobilized. I don’t know what to do? Help please

I currently have a 2010 x5 but I’m having intermittent start and no start! Sometimes the car will start and sometimes it will not start. I have seen 3 mechanics work on the car without success. Kindly advise

We just did a head gasket job on my 2009 infiniti g37x and now it won't start. The VVEL sensors are in spec and timing is perfect. We hooked up our Snap on Solus and got codes P0223, P0123, P0133 and P0228. Oh yeah also an ABS code which is C1131. We have no injector pulse according to the noid light test we did and the car won't start. Could a short have caused this? We really aren't sure how to go about looking for the short if there is one as there is a lot of wiring in this car. We cleaned the throttle bodies as well and it did nothing. The battery is good and those codes are the only ones we are currently getting. Any ideas what could be causing this or if it is a short how to go about finding it? We tried a multimeter, light tester, and power probe and have had zero luck. We are desperate at this point.

Hey guys I’m having an issue with my 2006 330i. When I was driving I got a a key with a slash in the middle meaning it’s not recognizing the key. Later on it wouldn’t even recognize the key at all so I am unable to start it. Car battery & fuses checked out so we should have power going to ignition. Didn’t think it was a bad key fob because it still performed other functions such as locking & unlocking etc.. but still replaced batteries on it. I also replaced the ignition key reader assuming it was bad but it still will not start. Now only thing I can think of is that the immobilizer went bad on key fob. Is there anything else I should check before I go out & buy a new key?
