Car Camping Alone in Acadia National Park | Day 4: Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, Great Head Trail Hiking
Come join me as I camp alone for a few days at the Mount Desert Campground to explore Acadia National Park. Such an amazing time, even with the heavy rains this past summer in Maine! Follow along to see places to eat, things to do, and to check out how I use the Island Explorer bus system. Thank you so much for being here!

Yay! Thank you and Happy *early* Birthday 🎉 hope the trip is amazing!
Thank you for the footage of the campground. That place looks so beautiful. And reasonable. Definitely going at some point. Just a quick note- you definitely had the waves for thunder hole, but the tide was too high. That two hours before high tide tip can sometimes be confusing, if there's waves, it'll fire on a lower tide, but a higher tide will just smother the cave.

I definitely want to explore some of the other campgrounds, but I would absolutely be drawn back there ☺️ and you’re so right, the bus schedule put me there too late actually, but I was still happy to catch any of it at all. 💙

Personally, I think you may have found the best one. Seawall and Blackwoods ( the nps campgrounds) are great , reasonable, and beautiful, but no showers or camp stores on site. The private ones seem to cater more towards RVs, may have more amenities, but are overpriced, and have crowded, not secluded tent sites.

@@MichaelJones-lq5is I will say, that’s probably why Mount Desert CG is always booked up, the rainy summer definitely helped make my midweek adventure possible 🤪
