    it's pronounced Skoodic, a hard C. When there go to the Pickled Wrinkle in Birch Harbor. Best crab & butter I ever had. Best seafood in Mt Desert Island is Thurston's in Tremont, west side. Beal's in Southwest Harbor is second. They both get lobster right from the local dock as fresh as can be.

    Thanks for the video. We went to Acadia this week and visited several of your must-see spots. I don’t know if they were running when you were there but the best way to get around and not fight the traffic is to use the free shuttle system. There are several lines. There are stops at our campgrounds and the visitor center with plenty of RV parking

    Cadillac Mountain requires a reservation for a time slot for you to drive up the mountain. (The Park service will give you a30 minute window to enter before your start time. Jordan’s Pond- two parking lots and can be very difficult to get a parking spot. If your goal is to park and hike the trail around the pond then perhaps do it first after the park opens Loop-one way only and shared by cyclists, tour buses cars etc. Meaning you may have to make multiple loops in the car to see all the attractions.

    Is there any roadside parking allowed anywhere near the bass harbor light house ? I see multiple side streets near it or on the main road of harbor drive ? I don't mind walking to it

  • @hoangpham

    @hoangpham

    2 жыл бұрын

    Maybe someone else can answer that but to my knowledge there's no street parking nearby. The main road leading to the lighthouse is too narrow for any street parking. I'm not sure about the side roads.

    What time is high tide?

  • @hoangpham

    @hoangpham

    High tide changes day to day. There are many sites like NOAA's site that has the high tide times for the day. For Acadia you can look up high tide for bar harbor. There are 2 high tide points per day.

    I keep hearing, get there early because the parking lots fill up, I also here morning fog is brutal... Ugh... do you come early to get a parking spot and just hang out till the fog burns off?

  • @hoangpham

    @hoangpham

    11 ай бұрын

    Where specifically? If you are going up to Cadillac mountain then you wont see much if anything if there is fog. However if you are in the lower parts of the park, there are still plenty of hikes and places to go around to spend time waiting for fog to dissipate. Parking is a big pain so if dealing with finding parking stresses you out I would go early. If you dont mind circling or waiting for a spot then you could go a bit later in the day.
