    You talk about motor strength... I'm looking at a used "S" for use w/ a rigged iPhone. Sounds like my rig payload will probably be mid-capacity and I shouldn't worry about stressing the "S" motors? Thanks in advance.

    I lived in Portland for 7 years love Multnomah falls but its to developed, and to many people, id suggest hiking Multnomah falls to the top, but then continuing up the trail 7 miles, you can hike all the way to Larch mountain, or you can cut off at the turn off to devils peak (or go the other way to angel falls, bridal vail is also past devils peak) there are a tin of great loops you can make where you'll be away from the crowds get a good map and go for it. For those really wanting to test their legs/lungs continue (driving) past Multnomah falls and go to starvation creek, and hike to the top of Mt defiance, that ones brutal but well worth it. Eagles rest is another good one, the Columbia River gorge is beautiful. Oh yeah and the Washington side of the gorge Dog mountain is a good intermediate hike.

    Salt Creek Falls may not be as tall but is in my opinion far more beautiful. Especially if you hike to the bottom. The bottom of saltcreek falls is in a canyon that makes it feel like you've been transported somewhere else. Salt creek is about 54 miles east of Eugene Oregon, and is well worth the drive if your in the area. And if your in shape, and wanting a good hike you can hike up to Vivian lake from the Salt creek parking lot.

    This is for protecting you from water with bacteria in water. You can put normal tap water when at home or disinfect clean river water while travelling.

    "I forgot to turn that off" and "when totality hit, everything fell apart" - regrettably famous words of eclipse photographers. Happened to me in 2017 (my control software 'reset' just before totality) and 2024 (accidentally left my camera and lens in autofocus mode after using autofocus to 'lock in' the focus). Got lucky in '24 as my error didn't affect the shots - major sigh of relief. My GoPro time lapse inexplicitly stopped recording two minutes before totality in '24. I learned in '17 to 'lock the zoom' and prevent accidental 'zoom shift'. Practice in the weeks approaching the event is paramount. Use software (like Astro Photography Tool or digiCamControl) to 'run your bracketing'. I took 40 shots in 1/3 stop increments from 1/4000 to 2 sec at 400 ISO, 450mm zoom on a full frame Nikon D850 on a Star Adventurer polar mount. In compositing my image, I only needed to use 11 shots with 5/3 stop exposure increments between them. It was nice to have the 40 shots as 'data to work with' though. Where were you? Did you do a daytime polar alignment for the mount? If so, what method did you use?

    Do you think it is possible to stabilise a canon R6+Sigma 24-70 in the same way as you did on the weebil S with the Sony+sigma 24-70, on a Weebil 3 S though? Thanks!

  • @hoangpham

    The camera weight is fairly similar so I would think it should be possible! The 3s has fairly powerful motors and should be able to handle it fine.

    Excellent review and comprehensive analysis of both awesome backpacks! The main reason I use the 35L is for wildlife photography where I need the longer Nikkor Z 180-600 f/5.6-6.3 zoom. The 35L accommodates the zoom attached to a Nikon Z8, whereas the 25L would not. Both are very high-end build quality!

    what do you think about red rock canyon np?

  • @hoangpham
    @hoangphamАй бұрын

    Red Rock Canyon is nice and much more convenient than the Valley of Fire but in my opinion if you have the time to drive a bit farther, the Valley of Fire is much more stunning than Red Rock Canyon. The hikes at Red Rock Canyon are a bit easier in general so if you are with people who want an easier stroll while still seeing beautiful rock formations then this might be a better option.
