    Cant be beat? He has 7 goals. Matthews, Drai, Thompson, EP40 are just a few people that has better shots. Ovi has power, not precision. Precision > Power.

    He shoots more than ANY player in the league, he has been on the PP for entire 2 minutes his entire career. Obviously he will score a lot of goals?!?! He has around 11% accuracy, good goalscorers today has over 13%. Matthews is a perfect example of an insane goalscorer, Ovechkin is not. Let anyone with a decent onetimer play 2 minutes PP and anyone would have the same amount of goals.@@fk4410

    How can you say this off ONE SEASON? Guy has won everything there is to win and to be honest I think apart of the struggles the first half of this year is cause he could still be trying to figure out life without his father.     exactly we have been blessed to have seen him dominate the nhl since 2005. People just tend to take greatness for granted and it is disgusting. Ovi is one of the most accomplished players ever to lace em up. He also makes players around him better like backstrom, wilson, kuzy, etc. He is the total package who anyone would want on their team @@fk4410

    @@criddlexd Not true, this was one of Ovi’s best games of the season so far in terms of speed, and he was actually good against the isles a few days ago, so maybe that spells somewhat of a comeback. But he’s been looking slower and less physical while still making great plays. He’s def become our best playmaker this season which is odd.

    Terrible luck and his confidence went down. 5 goals cancelled by refs too Maybe injury too and he tried to play through it. His dad passed away too and playing with kuzy who was not motivated. But now 18 goals in last 24 his puck luck was always going to improve. He was shooting 5% when his career average was 13%.

    How is he open there? You could literally not have eyeballs and you would still know where Ovi is at this point. Just plant a guy in front of him. What should be the easiest defense job in the game. I'd love to see how many goals he's scored from that spot, haha. Or his player tracking data.

    Brah Hockey doesn't work like that! If you play Him Man to Man... you're essentially giving his team a indirect Power play everytime... and it's in the back of ur net 5-6 times a Game that way... cuz even a 4th liner will score if given enough time & space!

    one of the reasons could also be that players don't see the rink from aside unlike us who's got the top view, so could be harder for players to always orientate well throughout the game to take the best position

    @@overtimedemo4399 No early on he was very explosive. I wouldn’t say fast necessarily but in a puck race he was very quick. Now he just glides around. Washington just doesn’t have the speed and skill it did to be an offensive powerhouse. Backstrom was quick, but now he’s retired, Ovi is somewhat unmotivated, Kuzy just circles around and stickhandles, the only way for this team to win games is to shut the door through. great defense and stellar goaltending, which they have.

    Google Gretzkys career goals. He has 1016 career goals (including the playoffs). Ovechkin has 901. He still needs to score 116 goals to have the most goals of all time.

    Ovi can easily catch Gretzky in goals. He just needs to play on another team. Looks like an injury has Bäckström retiring early and on top of that the team is in desperate need of a rebuild.

    I think he’s sorta lost passion, as of late he’s been looking energetic, but right after his dad died late last season, he sort of lost that flame. Orlov got traded, Backstrom retired, and Kuzy has all these rumours, Im wondering if for a short time he lost love for the game. It doesn’t matter now, since by the looks of his physicality and speed he’s looking as good as ever, but it was definitely a tough stretch, especially when he wasn’t performing. I don’t think it has to do with the team, the caps are doing well so far and are prioritizing his offense.
