    Nice vlog Coops Good majority of Uber Drivers in SA are foreigners, sadly they never represent SA as they should when driving tourists from airports on their arrival from elsewhere abroad. They always criticize SA every chance they get but yet they will never dare go back to their own "good" countries.

    First of all, you will not find any City in Europe like CapeTown, so the foreign driver is speaking garbage. But, I am not surprised because most African immigrants (especially Nigerians) do not immerse themselves in the South African national and indigenous culture. Their mandate is to exploite the country, and I mean in each an every way possible. I like the Zulu sister, but I think she should hook you up with a CapeTownian Coloured or Xhosa person to give you a more indepth experience of the Mother City. Fun Fact: No Mega or Minor Metropolitan in South Africa looks alike, and that should tells you how blessed South Africa is when it comes to its diversity (just like the people born out of its land).

    Cape Town is Europe??? WTF??? Cape Town is Cape Town, it is unique, the vibe is amazing, and it truly is the most beautiful city in the world. I am from Durban but have spent a lot of time in CT, and I have also lived/worked in London and seen a lot of Europe - and I won’t knock other cities, many are gorgeous and fun, with lots to see and do (in Europe and the UK, the architecture, the history - its unbeatable), but CT is unlike anything else, I can’t explain…🤷‍♂️🥰🥰

  • @allisonB123

    @allisonB123

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@mogomotsi6595 Cape Town is completely different - it reflects the ethnic melting pot of its history, and it has quite an old history (comparatively, anyway) - some of the buildings and wine farms go back to the early 1700’s (young for Europe, but quite old for “ex-colonial” countries, like Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and South Africa. The vibe is young, eclectic and full of energy, and uniquely African, IMO, and it is a very colourful city. The natural beauty is unbeatable, anywhere - it has the Atlantic Ocean in one side and the Indian Ocean on the other, and the city itself is cradled in a basin at the very foot of Table Mountain - you orient yourself by looking for the mountain, and it looms over everything, it’s amazing. Beaches are up there with the best in the world, the wine farms are incredible, the mountain is awe-inspiring, there is so much to do and see. Summer is hot and dry, winter is horrible (for people used to a South African climate, anyway - it’s quite cold and wet and windy - maybe not by European standards, but for us, it’s cold. 🤷‍♂️). The night life has been killed a bit by Covid, but it’s still vibey, specially now our curfew has been lifted. It probably has the least crime out of our big cities, but of course, you still need common sense…There are places it’s not good to go, especially at night 😢 And if you are bringing Euros, Pounds, or Dollars, SA is quite cheap 🥰🇿🇦

    @@mogomotsi6595 my apologies, I made the assumption you were from somewhere in Europe and wanted to visit CT 🙈 I haven’t been everywhere, and the last time I was overseas was 2019, but I did work in London and it was my base for some traveling…Cape Town is the most beautiful, in terms of natural beauty, and the climate is awesome (except for July/August of course), and there is such diversity in the population, and activities…The cities in Europe and the UK are much safer - by our standards, it’s crazy (the US is different), and the architecture is incredible, you will see buildings that were built a millennia ago - huge, impressive cathedrals and palaces, with incredible works of art - we just don’t have that here. The museums are awesome too. The colours on the streets are very different too, CT is vibrant, bright, and African - the cities in Europe are mostly grey…They seriously lack colour. The people vary, depending on where you are - Londoners are not really interested in making friends and there is huge diversity there so they don’t care if your accent is different - regional towns have much friendlier people, IMO . I found many of the people I encountered in Paris to be very rude and not interested in trying to understand my crappy French - they are probably sick of tourists 🙈😂 The Germans were much friendlier, I loved Berlin - people were keen to try their English and they wanted to chat, the Spanish were also great, and I think my favourite city was Prague, although Amsterdam was also awesome…I did not get to Greece, Belgium, or places like Romania, Hungary etc. As a girl, mostly traveling alone, I never felt scared (well, I did, but that was more to do with SA, not the environment I was in - my paranoia was just habit). I am a dual citizen tho (came here as a baby), so I didn’t have to worry about visas, and this was three years ago - I don’t know what changes COVID has wrought. If you have any questions, please give a shout, I’m happy to help if I can.

    @@COOPSCORNER I don’t think we (Americans) are able to get to Angola. Even thought many of our ancestors was removed from Angola in 1600s. I know it was the Mbundu tribe who famously arrived in hampton, va august 20,1619. The Portuguese kidnapped the soldiers protecting kingdom of Ndongo (now renamed angola) and once the ppl in Virginia discovered the idea, millions of ppl from modern day angola and congo (west bantu) arrived in both north and South America , mostly va and nc. Portugal now owns angola and we can’t go back.

    It's not like there's a black man waiting to snatch your 'expensive' phone at each and every space in SA 🇿🇦.

    I’m just visiting Cape Town South Africa, And chilee don’t trust these Uber drivers. Cause I found myself in Long street with sex workers thinking I was trying to still their job and men… I mean. I live in France, so yes Cpt has a European heritage but there’s something super special about this place that I found nowhere else

    The slave lodge... We used to frequent as kids on school excursions. We are a product of that crazy period in time.
