What they should have done, given the gravity of the issues there, is notified residents that the whole meeting would be given over to the public to speak, voice their opinions AT THE PODIUM. I feel so sorry for the people of Canton. Honestly, if I lived there, I’d MOVE. Nothing but corruption. Ugh…

How can the people's representatives not allow time for each voter who cares enough about their town to invest their time to attend this board meeting? Shameful.

The whole KR case aside, this is bizarre behavior. I was very involved in local politics twenty years ago. The public meetings, especially over development, were pretty rough and tumble. The selectpeople gave as good as they got, and there'd be plenty of chances to talk to them calmly after the meeting. But here! They sit in abject fear, like some bald-headed colleague on the board has got incriminating dirt on them and they act hopeless and helpless. They ran out and don't say a thing! NO LEADERSHIP! I've seen plenty of town meetings from different towns on cable access but NOTHING like the behavior of these elected officials. They're certainly not serving the interests of the town.

Its either that and if it is I don't see who they could turn to besides the feds..they can't trust or rely on anyone in authority in Canton....but if its someone putting their emotions above looking at the evidence instead and ignoring the 8 weeks of Lallys reasonable doubt then this person shouldn't really be sitting on a jury. I hope Bev instructs them again to remove emotions and feelings.

@@vicksenful Well I'm hoping let's put it that way. I've heard her last case was a hung jury maybe doesn't want another one straight after. I sometimes get the feeling Bev takes her orders from above.. a lot of times when she's had to make a decision she will call a break no matter what time then come back with her answer..so I think she will have probably have been given her orders 'adviced' by CW already how much longer to allow them.. I don't know court laws but have wondered if she didn't try all she could....could defence use that against her on an appeal.. yet it looked like DY agreed with the jury Friday and wanted to accept hung jury...better than losing I guess. What do you think? I thought this will be easy and Karen would be free out of her nightmare by Wednesday.
