Saving video settings on C1-C3 buttons on the R6 would be No1 for me. Also making focus peaking more vivid would be great.

Zebra settings ('blinkies') for stills please. So disappointed these are not already included.

the most important thing for video was left out... Clog 2 and 3 and WHAT EVERY OTHER company is allowing... record video to both cards, not just one! as (BACKUP )

I mainly want rhen to sort out the iver heating in 4k60. Maybe lower bit rates would help solve this issue? And 1080 @ 240 would be really cool but 120 would still be cool 4K RAW would be awesome but mainly CLog2&3 should be added

I would love to see blinkies (overexposure) when shooting. Now it is only an option when reviewing images.

That would realy help becouse sometimes it it hard to tell if there is anything past the edge of the histogram on very bright days.

Great channel and group! I wish we could save manual video settings to different custom modes rather than having them default to auto on the R6. Also wish the warm color cast white balance issue would be addressed when videoing in a future firmware update if possible.

Really hoping this gets added (preset customization for video). They gave us this choice on the R but scrapped it on the R6?...makes no sense

I occasionally get lock ups like once every couple of weeks. For me the current issue is sometimes I view finder will go black with some digital "noise" showing at the top briefly when I am shooting rapidly. Fix is to pull my face away from the view finder and the issue goes away

These should not be difficult things to add. Focus point infinity scrolling and settings exports are definitely features in their DSLR's. Also, better customization options for buttons has been on my wishlist for ages. It seems like Canon makes a better stride toward this with each generational improvement. The added button on the 5D Mark IV was useless to me when I owned one because of its extremely limited functionality you could actually assign to it. Great video, as usual!

One of my bugs in the R (don't know if it applies to R5/R6) is when transfering to a phone via wifi/bluetooth (which I do A LOT for casual shooting), the back screen insists on being on the whole time - even my customised * button that switches the screen off wont work - it seems such a silly waste of battery to insist that the screen stays on when transferring images. Obviously not a problem on my 80D & 70D DSLRs which transfer images with the back screen off, saving tonnes of battery life. I'd love to see that fixed because for casual shooing I'm transferring straight to my phone so much these days. I'd also love to see a 'DSLR' mode in the viewfinder/screen toggle settings, where I can switch the back screen on and off with a button (like live view), still use the proximity sensor to activate the EVF by putting my eye, but when I move away, I'd love for the EVF to deactivate but have an option for it to not automatically wake up the back screen every time, it's only in certain shooting situations where I'm wanting to use the back screen at all like 'live view'. Any extra screen on time is a waste of battery in my opinion (as you can tell), so it would take a nice 'hybrid' option like that in the viewfinder/screen settings to give maximum flexibility but to also maximise battery life.

plz improve the touch and drag function on facetracking mode, the current mode is not so smooth

#5 would be great (export/import user settings) for those with multiple cameras...

Does anyone know how to customize the Q menu and add Flash Controls (transmitter-based)? I had a nice setup on Mark IV and I can not figure out how to do it on R5.

1080 @120 or 240 Lower bit rates (can maybe stop the overheating issues bc of how much data its transfering) 4K Raw would be cool or at least C Log 3 And just get the overheating problem down a lot more (mainly in 4K 60 bc thats where I mainly use it)

4K raw not possible with the R5 since RAW is basically an unprocessed file and it must match the megapixels of the camera in this case 8k.

Michael - great topic! I want the following: I want a custom button program capability that allows us to switch the drive mode in addition to everything else, like focus mode, etc. They should also give us the ability to change to 20 FPS mode with just a button press. Crop to 1.6 mode is also needed.

@@scottabergermd 3 steps: 1 save 1.6X mode in C1. Step2, limit the C1 as the only "C" selection. Step 3 select your prefer button to activite the "C" selection. Just one button switch as you wished.

Turning the back monitor like the 5d would be great. Deleting in both cameras too. The exposure simulation is pain in @ss too, really confusing.

Personally, I wouldn't use 4k, but I do use 1080. So sometimes I might need just a little bit of cropping. It'd be great to have 2.7k so the file sizes aren't as big, while not having the overheat issue anymore.

A few more: - save video settings to C1-C2 -! more LOG option like clog3 - All-I encoding options -! Stabilisator fine tuning options like lens stabilisation only etc. - easier custom wb in video

For the quick change of the crop mode you already can do it with current firmware.

@@MMaven Yes, you can do the setting with current firmware already. First set your 1.6X mode in C1 and save the setting in C1, then go to your menu(camera not in my hand can't remember witch page) limit the custom selection to C1 only, lastly set one button to select the C1 mode.

The firmware updates Canon has made to the original EOS R has vastly improved its performance. As with any camera if you’re happy with it there’s no reason to upgrade! Enjoy!

With regards to the Lock up it has solved most of mine but I will still have small freezes from time to time but they won't shut down the camera. Often they are triggered when I use two cards. best of luck everyone!

Don't know if this is possible, but with 120fps, allow shutter speeds slower than 1/120... I understand there would be overlap/blur, but for slowmo shots with LED light flicker, I would like to be able to shoot 120fps, but with a 1/60 shutter. Also, it can be used as a special effect. With electronic shutter, this should be possible, right? I think some other cameras allow this. Also, allowing customizable shutter speeds in between the default values, to allow for exact 180 degree shutter.

Not possible unfortunately. If we are shooting 120 frames in a second the shutter speed must be 1/120 or faster

@@MMaven In the instance of 120fps with 1/60shutter, I was imagining that it might be possible with electronic shutter, as the sensor receives light continuously. For instance: frame #3, it would combine all the light from all of frame 3 (the full 360 degree 1/120), plus the final 1/2 from the previous frame #2 (1/240) and first 1/2 of next frame #4 (1/240). So it wouldn't just duplicate frames, but rather extend exposure duration to include some of the exposure from the previous and next frame. It would make for an interesting ghosted blurring effect with fast motion potentially, and with slower camera motion it might just look a bit soft. I've just been trying to film my Synthesizers with the LED lights on, but getting terrible flickering / pwm issues.

R5: 1080 120p ! 1080 240p? (even if needed to be crop)

Good luck. I am still looking for the firmware updates that the EOS R deserved to improve its lame Touch Bar.

They seriously need to fix the custom modes for video in R6 that's completely pathetic. Even my old 80d had that. That is a necessity.

What about the ability to program a button to switch between mechanical and electronic shutter? I know many people who want that feature.

My top requests for the R5/R6: 1. an option for the camera to behave like a dslr with the rear lcd for menus/playback and the evf for shooting 2. ability to use lens IS alone (no IBIS) 3. register/recall shooting func (add option for af operation = one shot/servo) 4. one button press to get into movie standby mode? (only Mfn is useable, rate button would be good) 5. allow Q button to be pressed for image review at pre-defined zoom level (eg.100pc from the af point). this is possible in 5d4 but not r cameras. 6. cannot deactivate 1-point af method on r5 For future RF full frame cameras: 1. marginally larger body with AFon button that is in the same vertical plane as the AE lock (*) button 2. add option for top lcd to be set permanently to black text on white background with more details showing

A more edit friendly and useable 4k120fps because the editing is a nightmare!! Or ability to record externally I pro res to a monitor like the ninja v.

The ability to use the custom buttons for video modes on the R6... Please uncriple that! I mean.. the EOS R has it!
