to every type of paper you have to calibrate your printer (brightness and contrast test) or the setting for canon luster paper will work for canon semi-gloss ?

After I open up my old photo albums from my childhood days ago, I really want to print my photos right now. I wanna print the photos till I have grandchild. It's so much different when you see physical photo album rather than digital one, the feels of nostalgia is sooo strong. I think I will buy this printer someday, or maybe the better printer.

hi i want get this printer for use with my photography but i also want to makes CD's and DVD's i know you can print on discs but can i when making the covers print accurately on the over side so that the back and front of the cover are in line when using double sided paper for this? i know this printer doesn't print double sided automatically so i will have to turn the paper manually

I read your review over 2 years ago and then purchased a Canon Pixma Pro 100 which I am still very please with. I also want to thank you for the mention of Precision Color. Their replacement inks work great and while I spent about $100 getting set up with their chip reset device and inks I will likely not need addition supplies for 3 or 4 more years. Huge savings and making all printing on this printer very reasonable if not just damn cheap. Thanks!!

HI, thanks very much for this video. I just set mine up. I wonder if you have a video on color management as I am on a Mac also and can find very little using this printer with a Mac? Also, is your mac using an RBG 1998 or sRGB color profile prior to calibration? And printing from photoshop should the color space be set to RGB or CMYK consider the inks for this printer are cmyk? I am working out of Adobe Camera Raw and exporting my images to Photoshop cc 2015.5 Also, I have a Dell P2714H 27" monitor and prints are coming out darker by about 1/2-2/3 of a stop and more magenta than what is on the screen. Using Pro Luster from Canon and their OEM inks. My only calibration so far has been with the Apple Calibrator. I am in the process of getting either the spyder or colormunkie. What brightness and contrast values is your monitor set at percentage wise as I have heard that LCD monitors are typically set too bright from the factory? I know I am asking a lot here? Would greatly appreciate any help as I am trying to zero in on what I see on the screen and have gone through quite a bit of ink and paper trying to zero in on what I see on screen. Thanks, in advance.

Tim-- Excellent video and tutorial. I do have a question. Noticed you are using a Mac. When I got my Pro100 I used the CD (which I should not have done) and have never been able to connect via wi-fi. It says you cant used wired and wireless. How do you get rid of everything on the iMac (that the CD installed) and try again with just drivers and none of the bloatware? I've tried everything, and still can't get this to connect wireless.. The iMac connects to router/accesss point just fine. All other devices work on. I want to be able to print from both the iMac and a Macbook Pro, but I've got to find a way to get rid of everything the CD loaded and try again. VERY frustrating.

We just purchased this printer a few months ago and are still struggling to learn how to use it properly. It prints pretty good on the photo papers, although a little darker than the monitor image. But I can't get it to print the regular paper well, like typing paper and what not. The colors just comes out so feeble. Can anybody tell me how to print on regular papers? The paper type setting only has basically matte, semi-gloss, gloss, and platinum, which refer to the photo paper grades. I want to print the images on regular paper, or stationery so I can send the image on my letters. Any advice? I'd appreciate it.

Need some advice...I'm a true amateur looking for good prints but without the skill or software to do the technical setup described in this video. I found this printer for $149 after rebates on B&H, so am tempted to buy. Is this too much printer for me if I'm not willing and able to do all of the setup?

How many letter sized prints can one ink set print roughly?

I'm a complete novice and I was wondering if this would be good place to start for graphic design printing. I mostly do stuff with text and minimal color so I'm not sure if I should pick this up. Is there a cheaper, better alternative just for clean text?

Excellent product review! My dad wants to buy this to accommodate thicker paper (cardstock, actually), which will be used to print photos from a basic point-and-shoot camera. I could be wrong, but it may be too much features than he really needs.

noiC9T go to the Canon page for the drivers, click download and it will give you the option to choose the Pro 100 . Hope this helps.🍀👍

You can get it straight from the CD it comes with. Just make sure you only download the Canon Print Studio Pro plugin. No need for the additional software. Hope that helps!

Hi I just got this printer and can’t load 5x7 paper. I’ve searched many sites but only find videos about printing large which is no problem.

For Windows 10, you NEED to install the driver from the Epson website to get Print Studio Pro to work otherwise you'll get a "print studio pro a printer supported by this software is not found..." error. Took me 45 minutes of forum searches and finally, I just install the driver from Epson. The Mac I have didn't need to install from Epson, it did it automatically.

Those photos are beautiful. I’m looking for it more for heat transfer type results. But overall review is awesome

Tim, you may have just tipped the scale for me buying this printer and I enjoyed your video. Having read the comments it is obvious you have a very sophisticated audience with good info as well. As far as the cost of this vs. pro printing, I say: at least we can answer that 90's Q about what the heck we are going to do with these "personal" computers.

Has anyone tried printing on discs? I am having trouble with the color. The paper photos come out perfectly, however, it is not the same story when printing on a disc.
