The tip about turning print preview off was a life saver!!! I was almost going nuts wondering what i was doing wrong to cause a dark overcast on the prints.

Great demo Jose - Thanks. I can't seem to get custom media type to display - even though I am using the Canon Media Config tool. It adds the media - but the custom category doesn't show up on the Quick Setup page. Any suggestions? Thanks

kzread.info/dash/bejne/mImk2sawo9yaZtY.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/pqeGt5h8cqvakbQ.html This will only work with the regular main driver and NOT the XPS driver as it is NOT an actual driver per-se but a supplement that piggy backs on top of the normal main driver. I have only loaded Media Configuration Files from Red River for some of their papers. You can only load about 6 with the current firmware but there is an update available which will allow you to load several dozen Media Configurations. These will only be seen in a drop down folder named CUSTOM.

Hi - thanks so much for all your great videos and sage advice. Can I ask you something: when you often say owners have to regularly use printers like the Canon Pro 1000 to keep them in good shape, is printing small 5 x 7s enough to do so? Or would I have to print at the printer's largest format?

NO. A small print would be plenty.

1. Your printer videos are outstanding, thanks. I'm trying to print panos on my Pro 1000 up to 47" (now possible in the recent Canon and Lightroom updates), but large paper sizes are scarce at 17". Can I buy a 17" roll of Canon (or Lexjet or HP) paper and rotary cut before printing to length, then print? Will the Pro 1000 vacuum feeder system handle a slight amount of curl - roll comes on 3'' tubes? 2. I much prefer using the printer drivers for paper profiles. If a competing paper has the same/close-to thickness and density as say Canon Pro Luster can I use it? Thanks much.

The so called Vacuum advanced is just ASSISTED and full vacuum line of large format printer. SO you may still have problems.

Can i ask something i get ipf770 When i send a print a big one like 5 meter from autocad work but if its 6 meter the printer just print 1cm then take out white sheet about 3 meter and start print from the half whey I donwload the last driver and update and still the same problems Pdf wirk fine with more then 5 meter but drop the line quality alot nit like autocad

Under Print Quality > Custom. Is it impossible to select the 1 value? There is a range from 5-1, 1 being the highest (fine, it is referred to as). I seem to only be able to select 2 as the highest print quality when shuffling through all the options (media type, etc). Also when just selecting Highest option, instead of custom, it prints at balue 2 after looking through my Accounting Manager App.

Ive heard the preview checkbox can randomly disable icc profiles

I am not sure if that is true but it will throw your color balance off.

Hi Jose, I don't seem to be able to find that dialogue box on my Mac. I've just bought the Canon 1000 and my b&w prints are coming out with a blue tinge. Thank you :)

That's because they are only specific to the Windows Driver which is what I use. Color Management on or off is supposed to be auto in the MAC driver.

@@laynieree4536 use Black and White mode in the driver. It will allow you to adjust the neutrality or non neutrality to any point that wish.

Jose - is it possible to print in the black and white mode using non canon paper? E.g. I"m using Ilford paper and printing from Photoshop. I'm using the ICC profile for Ilford. But as soon as I select black and white in the canon printer settings, the ICC profile defaults to only Canon paper ICC profile options

Sure. You can make global adjustments to adjust the tone is needed.

Greetings. Want to buy a BenQ SW240 monitor. Can it be calibrated with any x-rite calibration device with its native software or only with the palatte master elements that comes with the monitor as a bundle. I already have a colormunky display. Please help.

hello Jose, I am using a mac with big sur and photoshop (and a pro-1000). It worked fine until yesterday when I made a printer software update. Now I get a message that reads “remember to disable the printer’s color color management in the printer’s settings dialog box”. Can’t find that feature... have tried to reinstall the drivers several times and since then i get very intense reds and whatever I do in Photoshop does have no effect whatsoever on the print. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much in advance :-)

Just what did to uninstall and from what source? What software? And you can't find that setting because in MAC it doesn't exist. How were you printing before? MAC us notorious for automating functions for the user. Almost like it doesn't think you can do things manually like with WINDOWS.

I don't. Why would you need to put the?PRO1000 in service mode? Even if you could you would need a service tool and special log on credentials to connect to the CANON Service Server to use it. It's not like the old days any more.

can the Canon pro 1000 print multiple images (slots) per sheet? Thanks.

Sure. Any printer can. You need a software that will load multiple images onto a single layout page. Qimage is the best tool for this.

In the paper detailed settings on the calibration value when you are talking about internal profiling you are talking about icc profiling correct?

Nope. Internal calibration tunes the printer to what the factory wants it's out put to be. NOTHING TO DO with ICC profile production. What this is for to get your calibrated PRO1000 to print exactly as my calibrated PRO1000. Otherwise the do not. You will still need those paper profiles.

@@cheo1949 If you have a video on making black and white icc profiles and successfully printing them with the right settings that would be great. I have a istudio pro and make my own profiles but the black and white profiles never work. If you don't have one please make one.

Where is this print preview option for the Canon Mac driver? Granted, I do not have a pro-1000, however, the Canon Mac driver for the Pro-100 does not have a preview option. Does this really apply to Mac users or is it a Windows only driver option?

Since the Mac drivers are always a different user interface I really do not know where that preview option is located but every time I hear of a magenta color cast print problem it seems the user is on a Mac OS. Once they disabled print preview the cast disappears. I will definitely check that option on my Windows driver and see if it actually produces the magenta cast.

Maybe you can check for me if there is a preview in the MAC version Photoshop print module. All I am saying is that in various printer forums this has been brought up as a cause for an unwanted magenta cast. And I suggested that to a viewer and it indeed solved the cast problem while we were on the phone. Since I saw the print preview on both PS and in my PRO1000 Driver and these folks have made reference to being MAC users then I have to assume they are telling the truth. I am not whatsoever taking sides here. I could care less. Just reporting what I've come across.

I actually have a mac...I couldn't even open the set up for the printing preference options. :( The utility is only giving me cleaning options.

@@cheo1949 Thank you for getting back to me Mr.Jose. I was able to open the utility. The problem was I saved the printer as Air Print instead Image pro series. XD Still wasn't able to do the steps you have shown, but I'm happy I can at least select different types of paper again.
