    It is te aperture. Depending on your camera, it is one of the control dials you have, or then you must use the touch screen. Remember that you can only control it if you are using your camera in manual, AV or P mode.

    Quick question? Will the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 ART work on a Canon R8 with the adapter?

  • @timovehkaoja

    @timovehkaoja

    2 ай бұрын

    Quick answer: Yes. More thorough answer: R8 is a fullframe camera and the Sigma 18-35mm is a crop frame lens, so the R8 will automatically use the 1,6x crop mode when this lens is used. 👍🏻

    Another great one! Should I regret getting the standard EF-R Adapter from Canon and not opting for the one with the variable ND? Also, what would you suggest for my situation? I may be wrong, but I think I can use 100 ISO in C-Log 3.

    @@timovehkaoja Thanks for this reply. What do you think about the Canon adapter with the VND and Tiffen's VND attached in front of the Sigma?

  • @timovehkaoja

    @timovehkaoja

    8 ай бұрын

    @@potbtech if you have the VND EF-adapter, there is no reason whatsoever to use any other VND’s. The advantage of having the VND on the adapter (closer to the sensor) is that it has zero vignetting and it does not do that X shape even when used at the darkest setting. If you have the VND adapter and you add another VND in front of the lens, it is most likely going to cause a lot color issues and heavy vignetting.

    @@potbtech oh, my bad there, shouldnt read comments when you’re tired 😂 I would go with the Canon adapter VND. Way less color error and eliminates the vignette 👍🏻 when you compare it to cinema cameras which have internal ND’s, the VND adapter is as close as you can get with that 👍🏻 And also, no more screwing the damn filters on and off and on and off 😄

    Yes, it has the 1.6x crop factor, as it is an APS-C sensor camera. This makes the 18-35mm 29-56mm equivalent on fullframe.

    @timovehkaoja

    @@hojjatjokar3065 The focal lenght of the lens doesn’t change, the crop factor makes it 29-56mm equivalent. This lens can be used on a fullframe, but it creates a very strong black vignette on focal lenghts from 18mm to 28mm. If you use it in crop mode, it works the same as it would on the R7.
