Slick check this out, im gonna go ahead and just straight out say it i didnt want to bust him out but ima gonna go ahead and let you know two things. #1 i live in san francisco, this is in golden gate park closer towards fulton side. I would know because i work for recreations and parks department, i also went to george washington high. #2 if you ever watch racing videos on youtube they always say filmed in mexico even tho its clearly in Usa. Do u know why? Because law enforcement cannot use the video as Evidence as pursue you. Ur more than welcome to check it out yourself if u dont believe me , watch 1320 racing videos. They are all racing in different states on freeway going 100+ mphs but say that everything cover their asses by saying filmed in mexico. Hopefully u learned something today, im not trying to be a dick. Im telling the truth.

1 - i think most people want to see what board/scooter actually won the race. Didn't really cover that at all. 2 - damn running that many red lights with that many people around, trust me it's just a matter of time before shit gets ruined for everyone. hauling ass is fun but so many ways to do it without straight running red lights in traffic with everyone watching. people who see that will remember it and associate it with these. that's how all restrictions start. that's how drone restrictions in natural parks start. THEY ALL START THAT WAY - trust me.

Yeah, good point about the victor vehicles, would've liked to get more video content and interviews. The vehicles that won were: EUC - Gotway Nikola 100 Volt Scooter - RION Esk8 - A DIY won, and I'm not sure which production board. Hah yeah, to be fair the drones are pretty fast, probably do 40-50 mph no problem (I don’t know for sure though). Seeing them in action definitely made me want to get into FPV drones.

For sure, those guys were pros. Definitely got me interested in FPV as well, will have to pick up a drone some day to practice. During the downtime they would do these crazy runs through the woods, circling around branches and trees. I didn't include that footage here, but it was just as awesome.

The race looks fun as heck and personally would have enjoyed it - I already run 40+ mph and blow through stop signs and red lights (however discreetly and when totally safe) BUT please advise the sponsor of the event to make this an one time deal. This race was obnoxiously reckless and could have pissed off public en mass screaming at the mayor's office. You and I would be absolutely pissed if our scooter liberty becomes handicapped as the result of this type of LOUD reckless stunt. I get it - it's a race, gotta go full throttle or go home but please, not in ourCity.

Great vid, looks fun and scary. Just a suggestion, why don't you guys hold the races on a winding highway like CA1 where the speed limit is higher but you don't have to run red lights. I would think that would be safer for the racers, pedestrians and other cars.

Haha yeah, for sure. The scooters are so light and with great brakes that you can turn and maneuver extremely fast on them, I could've easily followed, stopped, or swirved to the left to avoid if I needed to.

That's such a hard question to answer since there's so many different cases where I'd want a different scooter, I don't think I can pick just one 😅 For pure speed definitely the Rion, for surviving the zombie apocalypse, the Dualtron X. For making short hops around town, maybe something like the Weped GT50E. I really can't pick just one!

They should make a VR game outta that San Fran scooter run lol

Dualtron X, Weped GT50, Zero 10x, Kaabo Mantis, and more. We’ll do a better job documenting this in the future for sure!

I actually have not ridden the FF at all, but my hunch is that the Rion RE60S is way faster... Depends if he wants a racing machine or a LED rainbow cruiser. I like both 😁👽🖖

Dualtron X should be the single grey wires inside the deck, so you see those? I'm not sure about the Rion, you'll have to contact the company, might be a software thing for that if there is one :(

The display shows voltage, which was between 60 and 80 during the race. Unfortunately there is no indicator for speed on the scooter, I tried to record GPS, but I didn't include the overlay because it was not accurate. The tires were definitely spinning most of the time we accelerated :)

I think this is your best race or atleast my favorite

Alien Rides I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on a few Grin tech phase runners and my favourite hobbyking Lipo’s. Still haven’t decided between venting motors or oil cooling, we shall see where my testing gets me ;) I might even try up getting my hands on some Rion motors and pushing them much harder. I decided when I dropped the hammer on buying a scooter that I’ll end up taking it to the local drag strip. So naturally, the Rion is going to have to look like it’s tame in comparison to turn the petrol heads ;) I’ll probably end up changing the mosfets if I manage to get the epoxy off without ruining it. (Not that it really needs to be done) Thanks man! Let’s hope I can start getting Australia more into the EV world map, we’re really falling behind ;)

I actually made up plans for a 252~v 12ah battery the other day just for kicks 😂 Total of 2440wh and 50000watt capable constantly and it fits inside the Dragon GTR frame I have ;)

That rion shirt can be purchased? Or is a bonus from getting that scooter? Idk.... Looks comfortable 🤣 Filming 📹 with that drone as well is so cool 😎 and makes the video epic. 14:30 this guy was number 1 in this race. Correct?

Haha yeah, 14:30 for the race winner! 🤣 Unfortunately I don't think the shirts can be purchased, it was just a limited run for the race. I'll see if they want to do a print run, maybe people would be interested in buying them.

Papp Sebastian Georgian my helmet is a mountain bike helmet and it’s super lightweight. Not sure if it’s on aliexpress, but I got mine from here: amzn.to/2zOwAND

The occasional face drone is worth it for the shot.

I keep having to try an look up because the camera in the race part is looking too far down.

Hah yeah sorry about that. Normally the same mounting works fine for testing, but since these scooters have so much power you have to lean down on the handlebars a bit to get traction. I’ll fix this for future Rion riding.

@@AlienRides yeah which is another reason I thought to buy an Insta360 One X as it just records very angle but there's pros and cons on that and the gopro7 black as well. good video anyway, scary ride breaking red light laws lol

Which rion did you use in that event? was it re90 or re100?

I believe this was actually a Rion RE80, and it was plenty fast for this race. Couldn't imagine doing it on the RE90, that's a truly insane machine.

This one is an older model, the RE80. The new RE90 is much faster!

That's a good question, people claim 30-40 miles but I've never tested it myself. Hope to do some range tests with it in the future.

this years race will be sick!!!!they call it RION race i think....correct me if Im wrong.....but one of the competitor is apollo scooters...we will see scooters as fast as 60 miles or more....
