They have made the theming so much better since this video came out: the elevator has since been shrouded in darkness and the whole beginning of the ride is just darkness. It adds to the intensity that you’re meant to be feeling as you go up.

I remember my first time riding cannibal and that was the most intimidating part but the actual ride is sooo fun! I love this ride and yeah the beginning is suspenseful and a lot bigger and scarier than it looks on video but it’s so fun and an awesome coaster!

Went to Lagoon last year with my bride. Road this baby at least five times, she is easily the best roller coaster I've ever ridden. Found out she was designed by the park owners, people who have been themepark enthusiasts their whole lives. It definitely shows.

Yesterday I rode this ride 51 times consecutively. It took eight hours on a not busy day. I rode 26 miles of track and walked 12 miles. I spent 2.5 hours in a moving coaster and probably as long in a still one. This is an absolutely amazing ride.

One of the smoothest roller coaster video I’ve ever seen

Okay so I live in Salt Lake City and I was TERRIFED to ride this- but now it’s my favourite ride in the park. It’s super smooth and the views are absolutely stunning at night. I would recommend it to anyone! :)

If there is something called secondhand fright, I totally got that.

I remember when I first rode this... I loved it so much after getting off I promptly rode it another 5 times. This ride is nutty, especially that wonky "Lagoon" Roll. A shining achievement of Lagoon's ability to design in-house :D

I remember riding this for the first time. I had never been on something so intense and wasn’t ready. By the end I was seeing stars. Scary but in a good way. I rode it two more times that day.

This is one of the reasons why I love living in Utah

Rode this awhile back, ever since then, my friend and I look at roller coasters and just refuse to get on them, looking at the Cannibal makes us feel old, like it took 5 years off of our lives or something. Went two days ago, the darkness of the elevator ride makes it memorable, the suspense. Its actually pretty quick after that. I wouldn't take kids on it unless I was certain they could handle it.

i used to work at lagoon:) a little tip: when it’s going up the elevator, if the tracks don’t align PERFECTLY, then the whole thing will derail. that’s why the close it down every couple of hours

This was my first amusement park of all time and i am still chasing that adrenaline rush a week later. Insane!!!

I went to lagoon yesterday. That was my first time riding this. It’s my new favorite ride there. It’s awesome

When I went on, going up that elevator was shaking so I felt like it would fall.

As soon as you get to the top of the first slope, you regret EVERYTHING!

I have been on this many times once with my little sister and grandma and twice by myself and it is my most favorite ride in the park :D

its weird how this rollar coaster is bunched up but still 10/10

1:21 I’ve been on a ride with a drop like this and it was the most scary feeling in my life. It feels like you’re about to fall out of the ride to your death for about 3 seconds and I couldn’t breath from the rush of anxiety. It felt like the whole seat would fall forwards off of the ride.

It's more like a double-sided pulley system that lift on both sides, with extra coaster track because over-engineering is needed when you're throwing people around at 200 feet in the air.

rcfreakeagle actually it doesnt lift the car on both sides of it. the car is only attached to one side the left or the right. ive been on it when the shudders above stayed opened. also the car rocks side to side while going up. the shaft has two elevators which switch between coaster cars. so if my car was on th right elevator the car behind me will be on the left because while the right is going back down the car behind me is already on the move.

Rode this coaster for the first time when my friends and I went to Lagoon. Craziest ride I’ve been. I was having panic attack in the elevator and almost passed out 🤣🤣

went on this today and honestly it was so smooth and easy!! loved it

I WENT ON THIS AS MY FIRST EVER ROLLERCOASTER AND I KINDA DEVELOPED A FEAR OF THEM LMFAO

as a local in utah i can confirm this ride is yet terrifying yet fun at the same time the feeling at the top makes you regret coming out of the womb overall very fun!!

The pause at the top makes me queasy! Cool coaster!

why is this just getting recommended to me. . . and it's four years later

Brilliant, this ride looks amazing

The ride is one of the best. But the lift is seriously one, if not, the best part. It's just so damn epic. The ride itself is amazing, but that lift up to the top is so fun. Just epic all the way through!

well no one is sure if the overbank is an inversion or not If it's over 135 degrees it's an inversion but nobody knows wat the angle is also which goliath are you talking about there's like 7 of them lol

its not a lap bar, its one of those that goes like down like bats

To be able to see familiar locations from the top of the tower in this video made it more surreal.

I went on this ride a few years ago and i can confidently say the elevator and then the straight drop are the best parts cause you can feel you stomach rise and then the twists and turns are so fun, i went on to ride this almost my whole time there
