Canelo never looked threatened or hurt by Laras Hit and run jab , unlike Lara he really felt Canelos power , running all over the ring stumbling for his life every time Canelo power punch his body , in my book running is not winning , Lara had all the advantages to win the fight in age and experience , Canelo looked to fight mexican style all night , Lara had other plans he looked more like he was ready to win a Marathon running all over the ring 🏃‍♀️

@@abdinajib3599 nah my friend, he lost to Lara and golovkin too. He had not great challenges above Lara, golovkin and jacobs. He have always been a weight bully. He fought average boxers like everyone does in his early career but then he started fight big names to hype his record at the eye of not experts fan boys: he fought mosley at 154 pounds when mosley was 40 and when he spent a whole career in super light weight, canelo was a super light maybe when he was 10 years old. The same for cotto who was 35 and that fought at 155 pounds, amir khan was a fat lightweight who had a glass chin even for a lightweight. Angulo, Kirkland, trout... Trout notable win is only cotto... Canelo is good, I like him and how he has improved during the years... But he is not all that good that the media tell

He then fought cotto then went on to move up in weight and fight triple g who everyone was afraid of and beat him the second time around. He also fought the likes of Jacobs who is an elite level fighter and who arguably beat triple g then he went on to fight Kovalev in a higher weight division and knocked him out now he is going to fight a top dog at super middleweight and who is also undefeated. You can hate on this man all you want but you can’t say his resume isn’t impressive especially when you compare him to his peers around him like triple g.

That reach advantage is something and this fight showed that Canelos chin was real deal. All them jabs and no slowing down. Fight wise skills went to Lara and endurance to Canelo

Years after this fight i can tell you that one boxer has gotten better and the other has declined.

Lara boxing great, the agressor was Canelo, so, i think Lara won the fight 115-113. But Canelo as agressor gave the impression that take 7 rounds to 5. So , very close fight. That was clean boxing against brute force and power punching.

Rounds 5-10 were canelos rounds if you watch closely lara couldnt get away as much as he did in the earlier rounds because canelos body shots caught up to him. Round 11 was a comeback for lara and round 12 was for canelo close fight but the aggressor gets the edge. Plus lara was running alot

Do you count a body shot the same as a head shot? I don't because which takes more skill? I score a full point for a power shot to the head, a half point for a jab to the head and half point for a body shot. I agree body shots are important but usually to wear a guy down for late in the fight, and it doesn't take as much skill to hit the body.

@@MrMarco855 Judging by your comment, you probably never boxed before. I did and let me tell you that body shots are a harder trade to master. Not all fighters bring a great body game to the table. You run the risk of getting countered effectively by a good fighter so you have to balance how and when you dig to the body. Remember, body shots are power shots, when you use body shots in abundance like Canelo does they will always be given more attention by judges than jabs.

Domingo Ojeda lara did not win. Look at the evidence. Lara threw a lot of single shots where as canelo utilized combinations. Lara never stood in the pocket like floyd did to canelo. If lara had stood his ground more often and countered he probably would have won but if he lands shots and then takes off the judges arent gonna favor him. Canelo landed the bigger shots and was the aggressor. Cant expect to win if youre on your back foot the whole match.

You're right, stats and eyes don't lie. Canelo outlanded Lara in power shots, landed the more significant punches and once Lara tasted that body work he got on his bicycle. He was running and still getting hit hard.

Well - its nice to know alot of people don't know boxing. You train not to get hit and to move around and get your combo's in when you can. Also Lara's foot work was very smooth and the way you beat a hard hitter is to get him to move and use his energy up. Also you put doubt in the guy you fighting by stick and move followed with solid defense. Mixing it up and staying in one place will get you knocked out - dangerous ! Lara's conditioning is good because to do it for 12 rounds is crazy.

Apparently you know less than you think...The sport originated with a "toe on the line" mentality and while the idea is to strike without being hit, it was to be done in a manner that also did not involve "running" from battle. Everyone wants to have Ali's feet and NO ONE wants to mimic his bravery.

@@Joshua-dv8gu Again i will say- A boxer that gets in the ring is already brave. I've been training with a professional boxer that teaches footwork and the correct way to throw punches. Not one time he said ( don't run from anybody just punch it out) Its call STICK and MOVE. Ali- in his prime did that but when he started to take too many shots to the head caused his skills of (moving off line to avoid being hit) to slow and he was getting killed in the ring. Tyson fury was quoted: He loves to move and create angles like Ali & Mayweather. To use another fighters agression against hinself and always if you throwing punches you will more likely punch yourself out. Be efficient is what pro-boxers are taught from day one and if you are facing someone that is quicker or punches harder than you and better ( you must move and use strategies to frustrate the other boxer) You wait for the other fighter to make a mistake and you work a combo. Anyone can get knocked out, if you want to go blow to blow but a true fighter will run-stick-move & bob-weave and survive in the ring. Check your ego at the door or you will be waking up on the floor.

There was clearly no fear or doubt in Canelo look how much more power punches he landed on ol boy aside the fact that he ran the whole time. Just pillow talked Canelo and didn't even hurt him and took it all the way to the 12th round. . Yeah Canelo wins this fight any day easy

I saw this live Canelo aggressor and landed a lot of body shots Lara great lateral movement and good check hooks and head shots but nothing that slowed dwn or affected the ginger... this could’ve went to Lara I think but Canelo foward movement probably edged him in the judges eyes 👀

Lara displayed pure defensive boxing skills, slipping, slick footwork and accurate counter attacks. It's just he was facing the P4P King in Canelo Alvarez who won the fight IMAO.

Half of Lara's punches that landed were light jabs showing little effect on Canelo. The power punches by Canelo damn sure had their effect as Landry ran the whole fight without attacking. Good fight, good decision.
