Yep, I've been saying for a while now that either Matt Reeves will walk and The Batman 2 will be cancelled or it will be rolled into Gunn's DCU. The rumor now is that Gunn is pressuring Reeves with studio notes to alter his universe into more of an Elseworlds story, so it won't conflict with Gunn's version of Batman.

They have invested too much in that universe with a successful movie and The Penguin series. If Penguin sucks AND Superman sucks, I can see them pulling the plug then. The Batman had so much potential, but the story was weak. Pattinson and Farrell did great jobs and Kravitz was interesting. The movie should have focused on the Court of Owls and plans for the trilogy should have been centered by that. There are so many cool directions to take that story to keep its heart, but make it fresh. I hated the choices Dano made for the Riddler. He was more like the Ridiculous. Too over the top.

Consider this: Henry Cavill could not wait to get the cheerful, positive, bright version of Superman. He believed that the road through all of the darkness from the Snyder films would cement his journey into becoming the Superman that we all know and love. A very similar thing was done with Tom Holland's Spider-Man, actually spreading the origin of his character through a number of films until we got to the point of familiarity. And then Henry was fired. Again. SMH

There's nothing to look forward to when it comes to the live action DC projects. We got cosplay quality costumes, Joker 2 is gonna be a musical, Gotham City based tv shows are over saturated, Batman 2 will probably get axed (not that I care) , and Mamoa is probably excited about playing Lobo, but I doubt it will be as popular or as successful as Aquaman was. WBD is constantly making poor decisions. That's why their stock is only worth $7.21 a share. That's pathetic SMFH.

James Gunn is behind the rearranging and removal of films from the previous universe headed by creative genius film legend Zack Snyder. He is the rightful film director and cinematic coordinator for Warner Brothers and DC Films / DC Studios. James Gunn is destroying through entire DC brand universe. He needs to be fired and removed from WB/DC immediately. He should have never been hired by David Zaslov. Pam Abny and Michael DeLuca need to remove this business destroyer from Warner Brothers ASAP. He will push WB into a financial bankrupt crisis.

@@Jucelegario oh I agree but they are spending more on this movie than any DC movie in years. Disney has at least a history of doing well( until after endgame) DC doesn't have a history of it. Superman legacy would need to make a minimum of $800 million just to break even and the market isn't there for it.

I wasn't one of those who clamored for Gunn to run DC on Film. I wasn't a fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy, considering how he portrayed certain characters (Drax) and how he just puts juvenile humor in every project. I didn't see his Suicide Squad when it came out, I watched it this year, and it was exactly what I thought it would be.

The Batman 2 will be cancelled.

Arkham Asylum in Reeves' universe would be almost guaranteed to be a hit. This is ridiculous. Don't be surprised that in the near future that Gunn's universe is scrapped and all focus is on Reeve's Batverse. Gunn isn't immune, if his shit fails, he's done.

Of course Gunn will cancel the batman sequel, it would have made money. There's no logic over there anymore.

You are absolutely right about costume. It's not going to look better after touch up unless it's totally CGI

James Gunn needs to change the prescription on his glasses. Those costumes he approved for this movie is very CW or cosplay. But maybe with CGI they can make them look better. Superman's underwear look like he's wearing granny panties or bloomers.

I don't trust Gunn at all: Name one critically acclaimed James Gunn movie where the characters and supporting cast aren't turned into buffoons or clowns. The comedic approach worked for Guardians of the Galaxy because the comic wasn't mainstream, allowing for more flexibility in character portrayal. However, this style doesn't suit established characters like Superman and Batman. Every climactic scene he creates always ends with a dumb joke. If I wanted to watch a comedy, I'd choose a movie intended to be funny. This is just brain-dead writing. The standards for filmmaking and the audience's acceptance of these poorly made films are unacceptably low.

That’s rather surprising. I think it should have remained in The Batman universe all along.

It was originally set in the Reeves universe, until Gunn suddenly claimed it was meant to be in the DCU. Now the concept is cancelled altogether. Suspicious.

it's hard to figure. Gunn keeps alienating fan bases. There is a growing boycott Superman movement, and this will push more people into not seeing the film. He canceled Superman and Lois don't forget and rumor this this will be MAWS last season. Batman 2 possibly, Batman 3 for sure. He's surely making enemies at WBD. Abdy and DeLuca are still there through all of this. What is Zaslav thinking? There is no ironclad contract. If Gunn is let go early WBD will pay him a big out. I'd love to be a fly on the wall during boardroom meetings. If the first trailer for Superman is as poorly received as everything so far Zaslav will have to do something. He can't afford for the first film to underperform. If things remain bad for Superman, I see it be delayed a year to allow Batman to go first. As it is WBD has to move Superman from July 2025 as it's between 2 much more anticipated films. JW and FF. Think Flash and Aquaman and the delays and reshoots. Superman may suffer the same fate.

I don’t think anybody in this comment section or the guy who made this video has ever produced directed or even worked on a movie set long term. We should all just wait and see and stop prejudging every little bit of news so hard it’s getting ridiculous on both ends of the spectrum. Somehow everyone now has the knowledge of a producer with multiple years of experience and knows exactly how good or bad this movie will be which just isn’t the case.

I am give it a chance because same time judge JG if he get the character right. Zack Snyder didn't get character right. but at same time I still love his Superman run and also judge his version on Superman. Even in TDKR Superman was light heart character in comics. only time he went dark tone in comics is The Death of Superman, TDKR3, Red Son and Injustice. But mean Superman is light heart character.

I think that one date in August was for just Rebel Moon Director cuts and not for ZSJL. But yeah timing was pretty bad. Him saying stay tune for a date for ZSJL. Then later that day the announcement for the Rebel Moon Director Cuts date came out.

Superman Legacy is going to suck. I hope I’m wrong…but I don’t think I will be. I can totally understand a lighter DCU, more comic accurate…but Gunn is going cheesy and silly IMO. I dunno. I also agree, The Batman 2 will not happen. Once Matt refused to let Gunn make The Batman part of the DCU the fate of that movie was sealed.

That Arkham shows, when it was about GCPD - I think it was supposed to be framed around the prepective of a cop who had had some interactions with Batman, but he hated him more, than some of the other cops... I was looking forward to that show since before The Batman released
