We've regressed from the LotR level epic that was ZS Justice League to this... such a shame.

With Gunn cancelling the Arkham show I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if he cancelled the second and third The Batman movies Matt Reeves is working on. He did cancel Superman and Lois despite claiming its an “elseworld” so the writing is definitely on the wall that he doesn’t want any other versions of the characters competing with his versions 🤦🏻‍♂️

He could have made Superman in 2021 but choose to do The Suicide Squad first. That helped him crack the code to do a Superman movie. So don't be stupid about hey he didn't want to so one thing over another. If he could do both at the same time he would have made Both in 2021. But there was a little thing called Covid. I got the early tickets from Walmart and watched it in 3D and it was awesome and when the movie ended everybody had a standing ovation. PS I sawan Of Steel 3 times in the theatre it was that great 😊

What is weak minded about not being ethically/ logically inconsistent by violating the well-being of innocent sentient beings against their will, innate victims, and therefore, it is not a personal choice? WB doesn't want to lose the rights so they are making a film with a bunch of characters (so they don't lose the rights to these characters) but won't actually release it, unless it gets released on streaming platform. I second that wishful thinking Aaron. ZSJL & David Ayer-cut of (SS) characters, getting license over to Netflix... would be a monumental big shift, in Warner Bro's stock. I am all for that shift. Speculation wise, obviously we don't know what's going on behind closed doors, regarding WBD's with the DCU. All I'm certain is that, there's more good buzz worth, fan demands, and promotion for ZSJL saga to continue, than JG Superman film and phase 1 roster for the DCU. I think that if WBD license Snyder version of characters to Netflix just like marvel did with Spiderman, X-men when they didn't have money then it could work out for us Snyder fans.. Although being mad at Gunn having characters because some randoms sompalined about Snyder makes no sense. Just wait until the DCU bombs so the Snyderverse can continue, it won't be long at this rate. Look at the upcoming movies. None of them focus on the main DC characters. Creature Commandos, the Authority, all the non-DC focused movies will make the DCEU look like gold. I'm not attending a single movie until Zack Snyder's Justice League 2 and 3 is released as well as Man of Tomorrow. The Man of Steel sequel. Batfleck Arkham movie with Deathstroke as the protagonist. Aaron you took the words right out of my mouth when it came to MoS. I also have a poster from the film (though it's the one of him flying through the city). It's truly a masterpiece in the cbm genre and a phenomenal film in general. The movie was so ahead of its time with its writing, acting, visuals, cinematography and score, my goodness Hans Zimmer created perfection with Flight and the entire soundtrack as a whole. We need that type of storytelling and character study again. Gunn and Safran are having a laugh if they think their Superman movie can be one tenth as good as MoS. The squirrel wouldn't surprise me...I mean isn't Krypto in this? I tried watching Guardians volume 2 the other night, I couldn't make it all the way thru...every time we got a serious moment, boom...a joke. But unfortunately I totally see the new Superman movie getting this same treatment...I'm not taking about some funny moments, I'm talking about goofy moments. We don't need Superman being super serious all the time, but I swear if we have stupid Guardians humor, I'll never watch another Gunn-DC movie again....I guess the trailer will tell

I absolutely HATE the idea of Zach Snyder's DCEU going to Netflix, as I never had interest in the streaming service, I'd much prefer if it'd go to Universal or something, because I don't just want to watch it but also own the movies in physical being either Blu-ray or DVD. But if that happens, I'll be forced to sign up for Netflix just like I did for HBO Max during ZSJL release, which I also bought the Blu-ray version of the movie as well

and although I hate the Matt Reeves The Batman he would never want to Merge with James Gunn unless he was absolutely forced to.

Pattison Batman would be a cost saving idea as well going into Gunns DCU, Theres no real reason not to do it. You dont have to hire another major actor to play Batman and just can pretty much skip Brave n the bold or we get an additional Pattinson Batman movie with The Batman 2 and Brave n Bold. Give me as much Batman as possible, keeping it to 1 dude would be a good idea....but.... Reeves Gotham universe is soo Dark, the contrast to a jokey wonky Superman Metropolis would be pretty odd.

Many people at first hated that the DCEU was more serious and dark. People wanted it like Marvel for a while :/ Now it looks to be many are mad again... IMO, as much as I want a shared universe, Maybe do standalones for now. The Batman did well, and not every DC movie has to be dark and serious. Batman Begins, Shazam, Wonder Woman and Aquaman had the right tones for their movies. But we need to wait and see first.. Cos when his Superman does well this will be the way moving forward with the DCU.

I don't know, I seriously think that Gunn wants to end all those projects that came before him. Also, there's the Batman: Brave New World. How would Reeves Batman world be added? It's already Elseworld.

If Gunn halts The Batman universe, I’ll never forgive him. Zero shot he can compete with that quality.

I can still remember seeing Man of Steel for the foest time in a packed theater. It was a good seeing a more mature take on superheroes and Superman. Something adults could enjoy more. When it released, there was a massive shift in tone in the movies coming out. Forced humor took over. If MoS came out around the same time as The Dark Knight and Casino Royale, when things could be more balanced yet mature, it would have all gone much more smoothly

Warner Brothers always made bad decisions with DC. Even in the 80s and 90s they stated that Superman and Batman would never be in the same movie. The Snyder Cut was a masterpiece. If only they waited for it to be finished instead of the Justice League movie that we got. Bring Zack Snyder back.

I just feel Snyder’s vision was for those of us that grew up on these characters and enjoyed their evolution from the ‘Superfriends’ to the 90s Batman & Superman cartoons into the JL cartoons. Burton’s Batman was dark, which lead to Nolan’s Dark Knight series. The was a very serious take on Batman. Snyder created MoS and gave Superman some realism in our world. Out of this comes his universe which was for those kids that are now adults. We want these heroes to be taken serious and respected. So far Gunn’s stuff is goofy and silly. He’s more miss than hit. And in the end money is all that matters. Netflix can afford these versions of the heroes. Gunn can cry all he wants, but the stockholders want their money. And I hope that Netflix wins if they’re bidding for these characters.

Agreed! I'm pretty sure I was 11 when Batman Forever came out and I was whatever WTF was back then after seeing it. Rewatched it a few years ago, and still roll my eyes at the boiling acid in the vault. Assuming we are going back to the campyness and/or dumb action comedy for live action has me feeling irritated, again, for a third time.

Bringing the AyerCut is the most logical move WB can do right now

It's just like the Martha scene. They can't understand that Clark heard Bruce talk to someone at lex his party and he figured out that Bruce is batman. So what do journalists do investigate and he found out Bruce lost both his parents shot down in front of him when he was just a little boy.. Clark thinks like everyone that would leave a mark on anyone even Clark would be devastated losing his mother at any age of his life and also See's that Bruce his mother had the same name. So while he didn't want to fight batman he says "save Martha !!" Which means 2 things first 1 Clark/Superman is talking about his own mother but also knows that Bruce has a childhood trauma with losing his parents and his mother Martha. Number 2 this triggers batman/Bruce his inner most hardest memory in his life losing his parents and Martha his mother which triggers his anger and every feeling he has in his body from that childhood trauma ... Triggering batman/Bruce say "why you say that name ??" In comes Lois and says "it's his mother's name!" This humanizes Superman more human than being an alien. Sure he is powerful and freaking got a godly presence... But it makes him normal and his care for his family saying that he has feelings and love and care even if it doesn't look like it.. but you don't know him !! batman/bruce only saw the things that happened around him and made his opinion of Superman thanks to that, and not with giving him a chance and opportunity to take the time to talk to him and see what he is all about and what superman his motives and motivations. Could he give some things some more scenes depends but it's all about imagination and figure out somethings yourself.
