Parallel parking was something I used to fear when studying for the driver's test. My dad had his own technique for teaching me by taking me to an empty parking lot and using the parking spaces to guide me in what to do. That also not made me fear parallel parking and that was one of the things I did well on the test. I knew I had to master it because where I live, parallel parking is the FIRST thing they test you on. In the end, I got my license and parallel parking is no big thing for me.

My dad literally drove me to one of the most crowded cities in the state and made me parallel park and drive him around for 8 hrs. After that almost nothing phased me. Before that, his favorite words were "look what a perfect opportunity to parallell park." everywhere we went in our small town. My mom laughed at me when I started giving her the teenage "ugh". My mom has some issues with parking but she can back a trailer so it's not lack of skill but usually impatience.

As a german driver this is just pure horror. It's like your sleeves slip down when you wash your hands

I only back up using mirrors. Looking out the back a have too little idea of the sides of the car and front end swing. Current car has a camera, which is very nice for seeing when the rear bumper is about to hit something, but in my previous cars I'd lean out the window to check that.

@@Karma0917 You'd be surprised. When I took my test while yes it was more thorough then I'm hearing here I didn't have to parallel park at all due to it being winter and the area I took it. Plus you can try as many times as you want on top of just lazy testers or ones that are overbooked so they rush it through

The whole trailer "turn right to go left" thing is... I hate telling people that. You're pushing the front of the trailer with the back of your vehicle. So imagine you're pushing an eraser across a paper with a pencil, right? Who's never done that. Which way do you have to push the eraser, initially, to get it off-center, and be able to push it in a circle? That's what you're doing with you car. You're turning to put angle into, or out of, your articulation, the angle between car and trailer, and then your center reference changes from there. Straight is no longer straight when reversing. You're now backing up, basically in a partial circle, and so the same as driving forward with your wheel turned part way, your trailer is going to stay at that angle behind you, the same in reverse. It's just, rather than leading the trailer, you now have to push it where you want it to go, and correct for its deviations.

Lol Europe here if you fail your license test 3 times you have to go to medical and psychological assessment to see if your fit to drive. Non of them were on the road here (you have to be able to drive manual too btw)

they should all have the same car or same sized car because if 2 people are equal skill level and one is driving a Mazda miata and one was driving an ice cream truck obviously the Mazda would park more easily

Brandon KOS if you’re the guy on the show, hey buddy :) hope your arm is better. Seems like it’d be hard with a screwed up arm. Also as a fellow glasses wearing human being get your eyes checked regularly that may help too. I can’t drive at night without my glasses as everything blurs together.

@@FukaiKokoro Same here! It can be challenging driving at night i do find at times. And yes i'm the real Brandon from this season haha. Thank you i am glad i am not the only one who has that struggle.

it hurts me internally to see them thrash that fox body and that cadilac hatch like if they are nothing, not to mention the subaru wrx type R they backed up into 😑

Apparently our 3 potential worsts all have road rage when Karlene was attempting to park. Kudos to Karlene for parking under those 3 road ragers and reversing a trailer without trailer assist.

I bit my finger so hard when i say that caravan reversing toward it.

There are few gripes about this. Like reverse only once for parallel parking to Canada's worst drive is such a high bar - even I, who considers himself to be a confident parallel parker, would struggle to do that in one motion (usually 2/10 parking is done like that). I feel bad for Alexis in the parking lot test. That Cadilac is so humungusly long, I wouldn't even have the confidence to turn in Toronto short downtown roads. So thats also such a high bar for someone so worse.

the fact that there's 14 seasons of this makes me terrified of driving in Canada

Yes, obviously I agree with you, however, we already know she's a bad driver everyone else got a pretty normal car, then they gave her a boat. I can't fault her for not being able to do anything with that car when she can barely do anything right with a regular car.

​@@Fubbjubbler It wouldn't have changed anything? What? Did you see how much clearance that car had when trying to parallel park? It had several less feet clearance than most of the other cars. Parking a Ford Fiesta is going to be ten times easier than attempting to park a '74 Lincoln continental.

Alexis has such NPC energy. No emotion, no thoughts, just locked in a neutral state forever.

Reversing a trailer can be tough when youre learning. What helped me was putting my hand on the bottom of the wheel and moving my arm the direction i want the trailer to go.

How does Brandon have the nicest of cars that can even parallel park but he still manages to crash into things.

i find always new Scratches from Doors or Somthing i Hate it.

Women with no disability what so ever and a man with severe disability driving on the same level, seems pretty accurate

well, this show shows that a functioning public transport system IS essential.
