Can you Handle the Yoke?? -- The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is an electric RX with a Twist!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

PART 2! We're behind the wheel of the all-new 2023 Lexus RZ450e, which is the first fully electric Lexus! This new model is about the size of the brand's best-seller, the 2023 Lexus RX, but it has more futuristic styling. It has a lot of rivals, however, including the Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Genesis GV60, Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge and more! So does it have what it takes to beat the Audi e-tron and others??

They also have very good video production quality. Smooth cuts, good pace, camera angles, volume. It's one of those things where _the better you do it the harder it is to notice._ They continue to learn and improve too, I've seen stuff from their older videos that has improved such as the (in my opinion) cardinal sin of saying something and having some other text on screen (e.g. a full sentence, not just a title) at the same time.

All Lexus needs is better battery tech/range. We all know this is built better than any fall apart Tesla.

I think the range wouldn't be that much of a problem unless your driving longer than 600-700Mi on a roadtrip ideally if there are chargers along your route anything further may require too much down time for charging but I think the move to offer a loaner is brilliant because most people honestly aren't driving distances that long anyway, contrary to what they say in comments. I just hope they make more Lexus Z/Toyota BZ products & bring higher performance models of both this & BZ4X

I appreciate how they kept piano plastic to a minimum here. The bezels around the screen are a bit chunky, and while it is surrounded by this material, it is not as egregious as other cars. My issue with the stuff is that it cheapens the overall quality look and feel of any cabin. No matter how luxurious there is nothing grosser than a touchscreen with piano gloss black plastic with smudges and scratches all over it whenever the sun hits the plastic. It is a small detail, but when you are paying big money for cars like these, it is something that I look for. I loathe luxury car manufacturers who think it is a "fancy" material when it makes their cars look super budget

I'm a Lexus fan and owned a RX for 15 years. Looking for a new Lexus EV to replace my old RX. The embarrassed range and $$price plus not qualify for the $7500 tax credit will stop me to own this RZ.

4:19 "Lexus was quick to point out that they believe this RZ buyer is going to be someone that has two vehicles, and this is just going to be, like, their city vehicle..." It's refreshing to see a manufacturer not push "range, range, range". I think _if you're going to approach the range regularly, you shouldn't rely on an EV to begin with._ If range is an issue, that's lots of highway- where EVs' fuel efficiency over hybrids and even some ICE is peanuts. Batteries are so naturally big and slow-charging that they're just not suited for frequent fast charging... focusing on range/charge speed is just a square peg in a round hole. I see EVs and ICEs as total opposites, each shines where the other is awful. EV's are great for short, frequent city drives where fuel efficiency is best, regen braking is useful, good acceleration, and you can easily charge that small amount at home. On the highway the ICE has a warm, efficient engine without all those cold starts and friction braking, and when you have to tank up every few days it saves a lot of time. I think Lexus has it right. Once or twice a year you can use, rent, or borrow an ICE/hybrid, it's not that different from renting a seat on a plane (i.e. booking a flight). Or careful planning with a 2-3 more hours and several more stops for charge stations. If an EV is a significant advantage for 200-300 driving days/year, I don't think you should discount that for something that happens once or twice a year.

I think that Lexus might make a few electric vehicles besides the RZ.
