CAN YOU FREEZE IT? Fresh PINEAPPLES?

---------------------------------------------------------
Freeze Fresh PINEAPPLE
---------------------------------------------------------
1. Cut the top and bottom off of the fresh pineapple
2. Cut off the outside 'skin' with a utility knife after sitting the pineapple on the cut bottom or top
3. Cut the pineapple cylinder in half (top to bottom). Then, cut each half in half. Now there are 4 quarters
4. Cut out the core; it can be frozen, too. The core has the enzyme bromelain which is anti-inflammatory
5. Cut each of the quarters into smaller pieces
6. Place all the pieces of pineapple on a parchment lined baking sheet.
7. Once that's done, place the tray in the freezer for at least 5 hours OR overnight
8. After the pineapple pieces are frozen, remove them from the freezer and bag them. Then place the bags of frozen pineapple back in the freezer to use later.
Did you notice that Evan chose to show me drinking the pineapple juice from the bowl in which I put the cut pieces? You guys are really seeing the real me. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I am not a doctor, nor do I hold any type of medical degree, but I believe that my tried experiences may help someone else.
For over 30 years I have used every diet imaginable to lose weight, but I confess that I am now at home using the vegan lifestyle. I want to share what I have learned about eating and enjoying food. And, since I am still learning how to be more consistent with this lifestyle, I have decided to eat more healthily, realizing the weight will come off eventually. Though I have not reached my goal weight, I know that sharing with other people in front of a camera with help me to stay on course.
I have, with the help of my husband of 37 years, raised 3 grown children. I will also share some cooking shortcuts as well as some natural formulas I have used and still use for everyday problems.

I never knew you could eat the pineapple core!! I always thought it was kind of "woody' - like certain parts of broccoli or asparagus can be. Thanks, Berta - I ALWAYS learn something useful from your videos. To be honest, I've never purchased a whole fresh pineapple. I "cheat" & buy the pre-cut containers prepared by the produce department people at my market. But those are SUPER pricey. Now I just might get me a whole fresh one & dissect it myself. There's nothing like that taste either. The difference between fresh & canned pineapple is like NIGHT & DAY. One of the world's yummiest foods. Thanks again & have a great week! ❤️🥕❤️

Thanks Berta, the enzyme bromelain is really interesting. It makes that rough stinging feeling in your mouth after eating too much. I'm looking at using pineapple as a tenderising marinade before rinsing and slow cooking meat. From my quick research it degrades at temperatures higher than 40 °C so canned pineapple won't work. My guess is that freezing fresh pineapple should be fine for this purpose.
