Great video! I agree with all you said and I read a LOT of local Costa Rica politics and news to remain aware of the happenings. I really enjoy living here.

I'm a Costa Rican. I've lived my whole life in Costa Rica. I have known no peace since someone decided to come down certain stairs. The only distance you can find here is the one you can make between political content on the internet and yourself. If you cannot make that distance in your home turf, I don't know why it would be any easier without that home advantage.

We have a friend who has a trump flag flying at his house in CR. 🙄 We have never uttered a word about politics to anyone here in CR and don’t intend to. I feel most of our gringo friends feel the same way as we do. Thanks for your videos.

I also have a neighbor here in Escalante with a Trump flag. Nobody will talk to him about politics.

As always, I have enjoyed yet another one of your videos. My two cents: Costa Rica is called "Little Switzerland" partly because of its political stability and also because it has no army. As someone married to a Costa Rican, I can tell you that the neutrality I experience here in Costa Rica is very similar to the neutrality I experienced living with my Swiss roommates in Boulder, Colorado. However, if push comes to shove (Or shove back to push), most Costa Ricans will take a position and defend their beliefs, just as my Swiss roommates once defended Germans/Germany and how they behaved during WW II. Now that I'm older and living here, I usually limit myself to "platitudes +" (Using a flat, disinterested voice and sticking to facts that most everyone agrees to) when interacting with anyone here. And finally, did I move here in 2019 to get away from the division that had become the United States? Well, what do you think? Again, thanks for all you do and have a lovely weekend.

@@yourpuravida thank you. We've been watching your videos for a while and we're definitely not the "I Got pulled over so I'm leaving my state" kinda of ppl. We live in Jersey and genuinely need a different life that we feel we can't get here in the US no matter what state we move to. We've slowly been prepping to "live off the grid" so to speak. Learning to farm and fighting a school system that has slowly been designed to cut us out of parenting. We'll reach out as soon as we know that we're ready to visit and see 1st hand what life is like there.

@@yourpuravida and btw, we don't have cable/regular TV so we don't watch ANY of the news outlets. I don't have Twitter or the gram. We don't need any of that BS in our lives. We don't wake up every morning and check what nonsense is being shoved down our throats.

No one is forced to watch the news. Don't worry about what you can't change. Don't blame others for your stress.

I'm hoping nobody is blaming... what we see from the comments is that people are going on with life here and NOT confronting. Thanks for the comment!

Q: Do you guys still vote in the US? If so, how? I plan to fly back in November to vote because I don't know of a more efficient way to do so. If you know of a cheaper 😀 way for me to vote, I'd appreciate the advice.
