Meru is a force to be reckoned with! Not only is she a great party member normally, but she is also super good in a solo challenge!

I'm assuming Meru and Haschel will be the easiest solo runs. Hyper turn opportunities are great in these games and she's like the energizer bunny.

Everybody knows Kongol is going to have an easier time clearly.

Fun fact: kongol is artificially bad in the US version. They decided the Japanese version was too hard so they tweaked a few things. First, they reduced enemy hp. Second they increased dragoon spells. Except the dragoon magic is coded the same as enemy magic, so enemy magic spells do entirely too much damage.

I've been waiting for this. Meru is SO overpowered. I breezed through disc 3 and 4 with her. She took down Melbu and Faust pretty much single-handedly. I wanna see how the Lavtiz video is gonna go...

Taking inspiration from this series, and seeing that lonely "Rose-tier", I challenged myself yesterday with a solo Rose run.. Ya'll.. my girl is a *beast*. (a monster, even). The earliest 500% addition in the game is a power spike that carries till endgame. The power curve of her previous additions are also the smoothest out there, imo. In terms of equipment -- her fear inflicting weapon remained relevant for a surprisingly long time. And then I got the dragon buster to dispatch any doubts I have w/ the final boss once I'm there. Her dark element also makes her beefy against a fair bit of fights. AND THEN, if you wanna include her dragoon form, Astral Drain providing a 1-1 heal to damage ratio (honestly she is BUILT for solo), she's damn near untouchable. Ineffable. Our one true solo queen. Although Faust was scary at first, Astral Drain outpaced any beatings she took. Tantacles, the girl holds it *down*. I'm having a blast. Thanks for getting me hyped about LoD again :)

The Rewind feature is prolly the most underrated thing about the remake. I don’t think I would play thru again without it.

Man, this reminds me of my Casual second run where I smacked down the Divine Dragon with only Madness Hero... I maxed it out and barely crawled out alive. Bad choices were made not saving often and I didn't want to restart so I had to go all in.

Meru was a beast. Didn’t know that until I found this channel lol

Yay! Subscribed. I loved this game as a child growing up and I still firmly believe that the story, battles, world is one if not the best RPG of all time especially for the time it came out!

I am playing this game now because of your videos I made it to disc 3 using Dark Meru and Haschel we are all in the low 20s for levels

I love the power of Perky Step. Watching Meru become one of the best physical damage dealers after spending the whole game as essentially a dedicated mage is great. I also didn't really think too much about the extra levels they would gain but now that you mentioned it that's a really nice boost(especially the extra Hp on characters like Meru, Shana and Rose who can have some survivability issues during normal runs).

Not gonna lie before i even started this video, i was like meru is gonna start out like shana and use mostly items for damage. I know she can deal the damage later but thats with perky step and weak mob enemies are where you farm additions for her since most bosses in her early game still deal high physical damage. Not saying she can't do it, it just takes longer in early part of getting her. Still loved the run and the 2 before this one.

meru has more style in her pinky then everyone else combined

Next challenge run: Kongol, Dragoon Magic Only.

Turns out yeah, she is OP even without dragoon. I wanna see a meru and shana only.. BUT NO ITEMS

Not sure if a Meru solo play through should be classified as a “Challenge” or a “Delight”, jury’s still out on that one. Lol Anyway, great video as always, and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Yeah, that was about how difficult I expected the Meru run to be. Smooth sailing for almost all of the game. One of the boys next or are we going to have our first inhabitant of the Rose tier?

Kongol solo-run when?

That's an epic series of LOD vids you made this past year, much respect man!

I was considering a no additions run where you can only do all of the moves before hitting the final one where you have to miss until l realized it was incredibly boring. Items were banned.

omfg her name is Shaw-na. Dart even shouts it in the final cinematic...

Menu is my favorite besides rose. Her dragoon spells are fantastic, and her rainbow breath heals everyone a decent amount. Her diamond dust also does good damage. 💕✌️💋✨️

I remember Meru saying in Mille Seseau during the visit with her parents that she, was the strongest of all.

One thing i realized is that final additions make this game way too easy like you start to do about 1000 per normal attack and if you have them on everybody you can do 3000 per attack and don’t even need the dragoon form if your not using meru or shana

After every Solo run it will be time for a Japanese Version (Hardmode) run. Magic Items sucks in JP Version so you will have your pain... I mean fun ^^

When I play this game for fun I always stop on the ghost ship to train addition, like getting perky step there max an addition then level with the item sold on the ship. Easy overpower early but take lot of time. Well probably less worst then my Lavitz trainning when we get him in helena prison getting him level 11 and train he's last addittion max and overkill Fruegel. Guess I have to much time to waste. If you ever do the solo Kongol I wonder if its even possible without the legend casque.

Come on you have to do Kongol next 😂. Even tho he's late in the game im sure you can think of a twist intill you get him

You can use cheats if emulating the game on pc to select all characters from the very beginning of the game. Great video!

Honest question why do you not use the Rainbow Earring accessory instead of the Destone Amulet against Melbu if he can inflict both stone and confuse? The earring prevents both and you get it from Martel at I think 40 Stardust

With the virage 3 fight, i understand that in a solo run it's unlikely that you can defeat it within the 10 rounds. However a question on that, if it does before that 10 rounds does it drop anything that wouldn't be dropped in the self destruct?

Several things I looked say it drops healing rain regardless if beat before or after explosion. But I can't remember if or what it does drop anyway lol.

So, I noticed that you don't use the Rainbow Earring for Melbu Frama. Is that intentional since it blocks all debuffs including petrification and falls into the too overpowered category like the legend equipment?

Challenge is too easy to solo game with anyone using magic items. I want Meru/Shana solo run, without items

It won't work as well, he's the opposite of Meru. High HP, Physically great, but magically awful and slow.
