The 55 was the star of TLB then went on to be a bigger star in American graffiti. I got to see American graffiti in the theater as a kid and left there thinking how bitchin that 55 was. Thanks Richard Ruth for building such an iconic car and part of American history.

Dennis was right you filmed the 2 lane tribute car last year when you found it on a drive day. Didn’t mention that the 2 lane car was rebuilt for American Graffiti and when found was restored to AG specs when personally 2 lane spec would have been cooler

Doing that short burnout was probably the key for getting down the track because the track is so hot

Nice to see 6:8! In '71 I was 16 and driving my hand me down '55 4 dr. 235 Chevy. Dad bought it new, Mom took it after dad got a new Chevy then oldest brother, then next oldest brother and finally me! It was on it's last legs by the time I got it but to me it was Two Lane Blacktop, LOL. More 6's Alex!!

As a restaurer of mills in The Netherlands, I can honestly say that the windmill is by Dutch design ánd in a nice condition. The restoration of a windmill like this can take years. And costs hundreds thousands of dollars minimum. The upper part rotates to face the wind, and it's this part that has some enormous wooden beams and can be quite complex to restore. Since there are rotating parts of the wings of the mill, and moving parts of the rotation to face the wind in the top part of the mill. I hope you could see it in action, or at least from the inside. In the Netherlands, people still actually have mills like this as a residential house. Most of them are build in the 1600s-1700s. And the craftsmanship then is still holding up in good condition. Restoration of mills, my job, is due to wear and tear, woodworms or other nasty creatures, and dampness because of leakages due to deferred maintenance. When maintained properly: mills 400-300 years old, are still in good condition. That's craftsmanship for ya!

Back in the day my brother in law had a 55 2 door .It had an aluminium big block, that was an arm and a leg back in those days,especially in Texas ,South west of Houston. YEPPER'S ,he introduced me to 2 lane black top. Dennis Wilson's best movie. (however the Beach boys ...) James Taylor's role was great ,as well as Warren Oates'. The girl who cares ..? The car was iconic.. Even in S.E. Texas we were into fast cars.. I guess all of that is what motivated me to move to Southern California. That and the lack of humidity. Boy it's is NOT THE SAME PLACE I MOVED TO.. IT'S, WELL ,IT'S BASSACKWARDS.. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES

Great day got it done rolling to the next race , I am not much older than your dad he remembers it as I do , CA was so fun when it came to cars in the late 60's to early 70's . most of the west coast cars where just different depending on the part you lived in but so many race tracks then , we spent a good amount of it in El chalone sprint car's where my dad and his buddy's passion but all had old souped up station wagons or trucks with big blocks ,

It’s nice to see some of the drive and not just at the track filming because every other KZread films just the races. One day hopefully I will make it to a drag and drive event but for me it won’t be to win and all for the adventure.
