@@DomSigalas The plugin sounds very nice. I was just perplexed what the analog device featured exactly was. I understood it was a Space echo remake, which as faik is totally different from a Spring reverb techwise. Each being great for various things, but kinda hard to compare different technologies, But the Analog device did sound extremely good and I would guess the price is also equal higher than the price on the plugin 😉

@@mrdali67 The Echofix he has is a tape delay that also has analog spring reverb like some of the Space Echos. One of the plugin reverb types is based on this Space Echo reverb, so it should be a pretty close head-to-head unless Echofix changed the circuit substantially.

Ducking feature creates a real interest for me to buy this plugin. I really appreciate how this company leveraged their digital advantage to pit themselves competitively against their hardware manufacturing counterparts.

B is the real one. Much more depth . Easy Peasy!

I am not exactly blown away by this plugin but then again, I have four real spring reverbs at my disposal as well as an emulation in my Strymon Magneto, which I like a lot.

A is the Plugin, you can feel it in the attack where you feel the cheesy/plastic sound in the transients, but beside of that sounds great and no real difference

0:10 Welcome to Jamaica Dom. Wow the Primavera has been doing the rounds on the net. To be honest I didn't do the test because both examples sounded so close to one another I was sold already for this to be on my wish list. There has been many comparisons to Klanghelm's TENS voiced in various videos in terms of performance and price, but in all honesty I found both to be different beasts with Primavera being more tactile to use also the 'drive' and 'ducking' features being very useful indeed. A definite 'deal-maker' but as a self-proclaimed recovering reverb-head....'You can't have too many reverbs' lol Cheers dude!

A spioing reverb !!! Me like! :D A - software, B - hardware ??? but it's close enough you can fiddle around with the settings and post prod until it doesn't matter in the mix I guess? Yeah, I'm more pragmatic than dogmatic kind of a guy! 😇... [ after the video ended ] ... Are you kidding me! o_0 That's extremely useful for sound design and ... everything! And it can even be slapped haha! XD That's it ... I used the link and now I'm listening to a James Bond-ish loop I made on guitar!!! This is all I need for spring reverb. Fantastic stuff! 😎

Sometimes if you want to add “vibe” to a track spring reverb is the ticket. I kinda like the stock Cubase spring IR’s in the reverence.

My idea...A...sounds fuller...B...sounds thinner....normally I would choose the A sound, or add something after the B sound to make it fuller like the A sound 😉

I think it would have been possible to get them much closer playing with the settings more but I think the plugin sounds great

B is the real one as, although A sounds incredible, the spring tension sound stays way too consistent as it responds to transients while B has a more organic feel to it's response.

Primavera sounds like it just activates the springs quite a lot - it's way too "drippy" and that sounds fake under the note. You have to really hit the guitar to get a real spring reverb to clang like that. The analog spring reverb "melded with the guitar", while the plugin "sat under the guitar".

B is analog. Not up for discussion. The boinginess on every not is not how analog works. Sounds like a sample is being replayed over and over again.

As a side effect of this video, you’ll realise that “virtual guitarist” plugins will NEVER replace a creative human with a Strat. And AI won’t help.

A long way to go before it sounds like a real spring verb, but in a pinch, in a mix where it’s not the main focus it could work. As your shirt says - sometimes…it’s just got to be analog

I was working with Doctor Mix when we launched the KZread channel- actually, on one of the first virals (how to create the Game Of Thrones theme in 20min), it's me playing and we recorded this video in my studio with my own gear :)l but we''ve been doing our own thing for several years now :)

Yes I felt that A was overly bright. You could EQ for sure though. However I am sure there are other decent spring reverbs out there that are as good. Also Pulsar have now got a messy payments system. If You try to use the student discount it claims to apply it, then removes it at the last step. Avoid. Their website has issues. Used to like this company but I feel like some others it has lost the support.

Neither are real spring! I wish I could find my Great British Spring reverb I used in the 70’s which was basically a plastic drainpipe with a spring in it and an input and output. The quality perfectly matched my Teac 4 track cassette!

B sounds better: warm and smoother Have you used the RE201 to compare ?

Id say B is plugin because A sounds low passed and the plugin hasnt got that engaged. Probably engaging it would sound then closer to A. But i will wait for the results.

A certainly sounds like an old and bad spring. B sounds much nicer and natural. Really hard to guess. I just like B much better

I just know there is a hella lot difference depending on what spring types you use, in my teens when I was learning to play the organ, I remember We had this young local technician that helped with some stuff, like boosting the amp that is driving the spring in the organs so we could get more reverb on the sound, and other mods in those late 70's Yamaha Electones to make the sounds more interesting. Hell if I can remember what kinda spring the original buildin was, but one day he came with another 3 spring unit which he exchaned the original with, and it sounded WAY better than the one build in with much less of that metallic spring sound some of the cheap single spring units have. Thats what I usually call a "bad" spring sound when it sounds like your litterally plucking a Piano wire.

@@DomSigalas Ya and your absolutely right, the spring verbs just go excelent together with 60's guitar sound. Can't really make that Shadows sound without some vintage gear, I'm not a guitarist and don't know what gear Hank used but I would guess its a blend of spring reverb and old analog delays

B: Real

yeah, so every time you hear a good spring, it sounds very glued together. plugins create this separation of dry vs wet, and also a lot of digital smeared mess that sounds out of phase in a way. that's why I immediately knew that B was the fake one. it's odd to say, but in a way it doesn't really add depth, where as real spring reverbs actually give you that real space feel. regardless, the space echo reverb is pretty crap. thanks for the promotion anyways

I love that 'dripping' sound you get from a good spring reverb.

The truth is that the comparison didn't make much sense... obviously B is the real reverb. The plugin isn't bad, but honestly, I think there are better ones out there.

The comparison A/B are terrible.....like completely different sound - either you messed up the settings or it's a completely usless comparison...oooorrr...it's just obivious hw better the B sounds.

I've never understood the appeal of a spring reverb. Having used many over the years in amps and in studios, I hate the boingy sound they make. Not reverb at all. But whatever floats your boat!

Rofl I was once the same. Staunchily hated it. But as time has wore on I have found particular uses for it in certain genres or for certain mushy sounds with high dwell. Horses for courses is what I reckon. As a base reverb though for general usage, nah. Not a fan of it.
