Can This 70 Year Old Tractor Power This 7ft Finishing Mower?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Welcome back to the channel. Today I am testing out my new finishing mower that I recently picked up from an auction. Sorry for the bad wind noise it shouldn't be a problem next time.

The picture is spectacular!
I have a 6 foot Farmking finishing mower that I pull with my Golden Jubilee and it does get really hot when the grass is thick and tall so I keep an eye on the radiator and make sure it’s clean so it can do it’s job and it does have a thermostat so I try to cut on cooler days with a nice breeze so it takes some of the heat away sometimes I can use 2nd gear and if I leave it to long I have to use 1st! But looks like you got a really good deal 😀🇨🇦

Great! I wanted a farm king they are just a bit out of my price range though. I need to get a new and decent temp gauge so I can actually see how hot she’s getting. I don’t want to over heat the old girl.
Great Video !!

Thank you!!
Nice. And rear discharge too. Ya, that tractor will have no trouble running that mower. I have a 1951 TEA20 Ferguson tractor and it runs a 6’ rear discharge mower. And we just recently put the 6’ mower on a Ford 1210 compact tractor. 16 hp diesel. And it runs it no trouble. Have a great week. 👍🏻🇨🇦

Awesome I was really happy with how the tractor did especially with the long grass, you can’t beat these old tractors! Thanks!!!
I use my 8n with a 6ft side discharge finish mower. I think the tractor is all original, it pulls it but can't let the grass get to tall. The jubilee pulled it no problem.

Wow awesome putting the 8n to good use. They don’t build them like they used to
You'll find it works better if if you use a PTO run down clutch, and extend your top link to allow the mower to float.

Ok great, thanks for the advice with the toplink I wasn’t really sure how it was supposed to be. I have a pto over run clutch I just haven’t got to dig it out of my parts box yet lol

Jactor you don’t need a slip clutch on the pto I have the same model ford just push the clutch pedal down and the pto shaft will stop with in a few seconds
To all you saying ton get a overrun clutch its not a 9n 2n or 8n tractor, the mower will not push this model tractor, also they make a special pin for that mower that fits where you got those cheap bolts, they're like 7/8"

Did you replace your Oil Pressure gauge? If so, where did you get it? I have the original one that came with my tractor, but the line is leaking really bad behind the Hydraulic pump (the oil pressure line).

Yes I just got mine from Steiner tractor parts
You need an over ride clutche so when you stop the tractor it will not push the tractor forward and sway arms to keep the 3 point hitch from moving side to side help out a lot.

Thanks for you comment. I have a over running clutch but my yard is so big I have got used to stopping in time so I haven not used it with this mower yet. Also I have tried using stabilizer bars but they vibrate so loud and the mower seems to be ok with just the stay chains on the tractor

Haha yes I did lose my job. Thanks I’m happy with how it turned out. Thanks for your comment!!
Some advice for someone who's owned that. Sell that toy tractor and mower and buy a zero turn. You can thank me later.

Zero turn will beat you to death and is supremely overrated.
