    Nice to see a midsize American truck up to par with my bad ass Tacoma .. almost, time will tell if ranger is as durable! But I have to say , very impressed!99.5% of us working folks won’t get this rough . Mostly muddy roads on public managed hunting land .hey I’m starting to wary up to guys. I like the way you talk you russian. O teal Toyota’s run in Iraq . The sand don’t seem bother them ( Hilux) tough , also in Africa, Australia, God bless um, but these Toyota’s are tough, and the very very best mid heavy duty trucks build. I wonder why they not sold in North America? Damn rusty go get us one!!!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🍀

    Note i can’t type , sorry. But on the tough as hell hilux, no match for our gun trucks . Put 2-3 24mm slugs Thur one and it’s dead. A .338 will go Thur one from stem to sturn . These are called machine killers I say too much sorrey🤣

    I've never gone offroading and just got my first truck, and even I know you shouldn't rely and all these fancy electronic traction systems. Just don't be a shitty driver. Lol..the way I look at it, if people were doing this kind of stuff back in the day without all that fancy shit, there's no reason we can't do it now.

    A buddy is provided a new work truck every couple of years; most of his driving is on the freeway. His last rig was a Silverado, his newest a Ranger. He’s a good sized fella at 6-3 and 250. He indicates the Silverado was much quieter and more comfortable than the Ranger, and gas mileage maybe a couple mpg’s different.

    I just bought a 2021 Ranger XLT Tremor in cactus grey, and I LOVE it!! It’s even more suited for the off road, with additional skid plates, a slight lift more than the FX4, and a bump up in suspension, and some general grabber ATx off-road stock tires. If the FX4 was a slight winner over the Tacoma TRD Pro, then the Tremor would be a hands-down victor! I never thought I’d be a Ford man, but there it is!! 👍🏼

I've got almost 9,000 miles on it now and I love it. Originally, I was looking for a Tacoma, but thank you Ford for letting North America finally get this. The trail pimp does really get on the throttle to get you over obstacles, but obviously can't predict when you're going to hop over and it needs to lay off. For rock gardens, your better off actually driving. To me, it's useful when on less-maintained fire roads with bikes and gear in the bed and I want to go slower than normal.

    I looked at both of these vehicles last month. I ended up pulling the trigger on a Tacoma TRD Off-Road instead of the Pro. The Ranger certainly is a nice driving vehicle, has plenty of power, and a lot more electronic niceties. There are a few things the Ranger is lacking though. The rear seat doesn't fold flat, it also isn't a split seat. You're missing a good amount of storage in the Ranger that you have in the Tacoma. The thing that really sold me on the Tacoma was parking it next to the Ranger. From the front the Ranger looked like a sedan. I just didn't think it looked all that sexy in person. For me, the Tacoma looks a lot more "trucky". At the end of the day they're both fine trucks and will do what you need them to. The Tacoma will be worth more when you get rid of it, and will likely need less time at the dealership too.

    The Rangers really are decent trucks. There are 1993-2011 Rangers all over in my area running just fine with well over 300,000 km or about 200,000 miles. They also have solid frames underneath them. No where near as many Tacoma’s in the area and when I look underneath the Toyota’s, there is major rust in the frame even. Don’t have to look under them to see all the rust in the body panels, especially the older they get. Look at things with open objective eyes and you will realize the only thing the Tacoma has going for it is resale value. Since the basic FX4 can outperform the TRD Pro for over $9,000 less, the resale is not an issue either because I there will a lot less than $9,000 difference between the two 4 years from now so the Ranger will depreciate mor in %, but the Tacoma will depreciate more in the $$s because of the higher initial cost. The new Ranger will hold its value better than the old Ranger because it is a better and more competitive truck. Even the GM twins have decent resale, getting to be an old story if Toyota keep gouging their clientele. You can barely negotiate when you buy them so the true price difference after a real purchase will be closer to $11,000. Ford Ranger wins on the road, trail, AND the pocketbook! Even 4 years later! Look at the real world numbers, not all the hype and catch phrases.

  • @JAMESWUERTELE

    @JAMESWUERTELE

  • @shitloveaduck

    @shitloveaduck

    4 жыл бұрын

    James Wuertele - do you drink a lot? In southern Alberta Canada, the used Tacomas, specifically the 2016 - 2017 do not have the resale the 2015 and older models do. Things change and Toyota’s resale values are falling, especially with the recent release of the Tacoma. 2017 models in this are have depreciated $11,000.00, in 2 years. Real numbers, things change and Toyota has to produce better ergonomics, better motor or power characteristics for the 3.5. There are better options available on the other trucks and more flexibility in those options. There is a reason Toyota has lost so much market share and after the first half of record sales, sales have dropped of enough in the second half that Toyota won’t sell as many trucks as last year. Gotta look at the greater picture and current trends instead of the distant past. Sorry dude!

    I had an 86 Ford ranger that clocked over 4 times. It had 486,000 original miles on it. I put a mustang c4 trans in it, dual flowmaster exhaust, fully caged, lifted with 35's, 6" fiberglass front and rear fenders. Had the 2.9l v6 4x4, first year of electronic fuel injection. That truck was a beast and got me everywhere. I used to pull big 4x4 hummers and Chevys out of the ditches in the snow with my little ranger all the time. The little thing was amazing. I eventually sold it and my buddy dropped his mustang 5.0 302 motor that was stroked to a 331 in it.

    Great video. I was more impressed with the Ranger than I thought I would be, especially with how fast it was. What about interior dimensions and usable space? That's important for some people families and gear to haul around. I haven't' been in the Ranger but I know the Toyota is quite cramped feeling inside, in my opinion.
