Willys may become the new sweet spot - rear locker, same size tires and gear ratio as the Rubi, standard Aux switches for accessories. No electronic disconnecting sway bar or front locker but that's more than most people will ever use, and it takes two minutes to disconnect your sway bar anyway. Great video! Great test and video - as always! I would really like to have you and your Dad take a deep dive into a topic that I suspect many of your "older" or traditional viewers might appreciate. With the ever increasing popularity of Hybrid 4x4's such as this Jeep and the upcoming 4 Runner and Land Cruiser, I would really like to understand how age will affect the hybrid systems. Topics like - Can you drive a Hybrid even if the hybrid system fails (i.e., the battery)? How much is a new battery in these new rigs? Does hot / cold weather affect the hybrid battery systems? I realize this topic might well be worth several videos but it sure would be interesting. I guess Old Guys like me may have no choice but to buy a hybrid at some point in the not too distant future! Thanks.

The truth is we're always walking the line of tough testing that doesn't damage vehicles. And to be clear, it's not really because of the manufacturers (they'll stop lending us stuff if we break everything, but for the most part they are pretty understanding of the risks of what we do). The bigger issue is that when we break something it has to come out of the fleet to be fixed, meaning other journalists lose their time with it and therefore lose money. So with that fresh in my mind from the Sequoia a week earlier, I tried to be careful with the Willys.

  • @IdaIsBorning

The full float rear axle is part of the reason. Only the rubicons have the higher tow rating. The 4xE and the 392 weigh more and does not get the higher rating for towing. Not sure why the 392 does not get increased tow rating.

Well you should always be different I saw first last time video and thankful for good reviews but my friend that's not a good review if you want to back up we never understood if it can do it or not. Don't copy others do let it slide easily because that will bring damage to your channel!! Damage is part of this game so you gotta make a decision do you want to do of road review and stay truck king or just do other type of reviews we are looking for honest review

Never said it was. Actually said it was quite expensive at 22:55. In the intro I was just trying to point out that this is the affordable off-road model in the lineup compared to the Rubicon. Could have picked my words better and said less expensive.

I'm not calling it affordable, especially here in Canada. I said that it's the "affordable off-road model in the lineup," which is true when you compare it to a Rubicon with the same powertrain. But the pricing is quite expensive, especially the 4XE in Canada, which is what I said in the pricing section.
