I started using elliptical 45 minutes at night one hour after dinner. I read somewhere that 45 minutes cardio helps raise hdl regardless of intensity. I usually set an elliptical program for 30 minutes with varying intensity so my body will be challenged and the last 15 minutes is low intensity. Checked my bloodsugar before going to sleep and was in the 80s, decided not to take my metformin cause I was scared of hypo while asleep. The next day, my fasting bloodsugar was below 100 and it was before 8am. I've always had a problem with dawn phenomenon, my bloodsugar was always in the 105-110 range fasting. Decided to continue exercising at night before going to sleep and surprisingly, my fasting blood sugar was always below 100s WITHOUT taking metformin at night. It also helps that my elliptical is in my room, I just watch tv or youtube while exercising 😂 I'm planning to start strength training soon

I have type 2 diabetes causes by gestational diabetes and it got worse when I did CrossFit. After every workout I would check my sugars and they were so high about 250. I stopped and returned back to traditional training, cardio and low carb/keto. My A1c went from 6.7 to 5.9 in 8 months!

After exercise sugars are high, because liver produces sugar for the exercised muscles. So sugar in blood is high. You should not check immediately after exercise. That is the reason, its advised to not exercise when the sugar is very high. But for long term control of diabetes. Exercise is good. Esp muscle resistance exercises. Tc. You should have checked next day fasting after cross fit. It would have been better.

depends what kind of exercise. high intensity like crossfit raises blood sugar while walking lowers it. its actually the cortisol and adrenaline from intense excersise that makes you release sugar into the blood. so her saying traditional excersise like lifting and walking on the tread mill or steady cardio does help@@joyoflearning2124

My first 7 years. Diabetes was out of control I started walking 10,000 steps lost 15 Kilos in one year And then the weight stalled I focussed on my diet and weight fell another 10 Kilos I was off medication for 7 years Until Covid-19 came My weight started ballooning again Last 18 months back on tablets. Not sure if 47 years of age is the problem My challenge to lose weight again and increase excercise Since COVID I haven't cycled like I used to due to dizziness and tiredness of Corona Virus But it is a step by step process like I did the first time round Nothing happens overnight. You got to make that first step and be hard on yourself

Hello Dazer. The answer depends on what your blood sugar is before you exercise. If your blood sugar is above 250 mg/dl, we recommend avoiding any exercise besides levels 1. Your blood sugar level can vary from hour to hour, and is different from your hba1c, however the two metrics (blood sugar level and hba1c) are related. Have you signed up for GlucoseZone yet? 6 years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes type 2.With change of diet and exercise the diabetes regressed . For a period of 4 years. This year early I went through a very troumatic period where my only son was jailed and I lost my lovely running buddy to a car accident. I was troumatised and cried for months. Now my diabetes is back. I excersize vigorously ,also trying to heal my pain. But the diabetes is still angrily active. What can I do? Please help.

Hello I am sorry to hear about your son being jailed, that is a type grief , and losing your jogging buddy to a car accident adds to the grief, that will raise your blood sugar because you are under stress , try to listen to some positive guided affirmations , and do breathing exercises . I too am battling type 2 again after having uterine cancer last year , and the past 7 years have been traumatic for me too , I lost my dad in 2017 , my brother went to jail for 4 years for manslaughter , then i got cancer and also got diagnosed with sleep apnea (undiagnosed since 2010), the sleep apnea caused the type 2 diabetes and the diabetes caused the uterine cancer . So I understand your grief on losing someone you loved and also the grief of your son (in my case my brother) . I hope you start to feel better soon , let that grief out , cry and release it . Relaxation , and breathing is so important , our body and mind needs time to relax , it isn't easy, that is why i suggest guided meditation , so you just lie or sit and listen and then your mind will hear the affirmations and your body will respond . Sending love and light .

I got type 2 because I have sleep apnea that went undiagnosed for 13 years at least . I now have a CPAP machine and sleep 9 hours a night and only stop breathing up to 7 times an hour instead of 39 times an hour. Because of the sleep apnea I developed type 2 put lots of weight on , and last August I had uterine cancer caused by type 2 diabetes. It completely broke my heart cancer is scary and it still scares me even though I had a full hysterectomy. I've since lost a stone after using the CPAP machine, but my blood sugar went high my A1c was 111 last month , I walk an hour daily and do a 15 minute workout on an evening , instead of my A1c dropping it rose by 3 points , now I have started a low carb diet and continue to walk and exercise daily , I will have another A1c in February , so I will post back here to see if it has worked . I would love for exercise to cure me and I believe it will , but I think I need to continue eating healthier , I was no eating healthy right after my surgery , so I shall see . I do love the word cure so I am going cure this type 2 .

I like to update my health , I had my a1c in Feb and it dropped from 111 down to 68, then another test in April and it dropped to 62. I don't like low carb diet it is restrictive , I'd love to hear how others eat using this method of reversing type 2 with exercise. I am 60 soon and very tired, I also just had course of antibiotics because I got bitten by a tick and got Lyme disease , very unlucky really .

Hi, I am sorry to hear you get sick eating rice and I do not think it is related to blood sugar. Maybe you find a substitute or a new source of carbohydrate for after workouts if your blood sugar is low. If your blood sugar isn't too low, you might not need carbs right after and the timing of food might cause you to not feel great. Try some different strategies and keep us posted!

Type one is different. Type one means you make no insulin yourself. Type 2 means u make insulin but the cells are no longer sensitive to the insulin to get the sugar into the cell from the blood stream. So your pancreas just keeps putting out more insulin trying to get it in there. With type one there is no insulin

I think technically diabetes is incurable but it is reversible. Just a minor (yet major) distinction. Its a big "small" deal because I guess you can get in some serious trouble using the word "cure" or "curable" in the same sentence with some diseases.

Generally speaking, weight loss is usually a sign of type 1 diabetes and doctors should be able to help determine which type your wife has-if her body is making insulin at all or not.

Yes and No, if you continue to live healthy then you won't really need medication, you will end like a pre diabetic kind of person, if you get yourself off medication and go back to spending all day doing nothing while eating junk food then welcome back to the world of medication, exercise allowed to get off metformin and use only a bit of lantus every day + got off some other medication as well but my doctor said if I kept loosing weight I could get off medication all together, so I'm exercising like a mad man, the exercise videos on this channel are really good and I highly recommend them.

Not exactly, the first goal should be to reach your healthy weight, your doctor can help you with calculating that, secondly you just need to increase physical activity through the day, walk more, work in your garden, get laid? XD! Anything that involves burning calories, personally I do hard core training twice a week and the rest of the week I do walking, jogging or simply do push ups every now and then. of course you should vary your exercises and ways consult with your doctor and check your blood sugar before and after your work outs,"you don't want to crash".

The added muscle mass you will gain training strenght will regulate sugar and metabolism better. Remember, most of the metabolical activity in the body occurs at the muscles.
