I didn't believe in ESP either until i woke up in the middle of the night gasping for air at the precise time my father was drowning, 2,000 miles across the country from me. Many other odd events were connected to his death. This changed everything for me there after.

Reality is weirder than our species is crazy. War and poverty, fame and power, and a lot of people in the middle who think they're different than the people at the top and at the bottom. The world is crazy and reality is weirder than the entire history of mankind.

I had a similar feeling the night my mother died. It was New Year’s Eve 2006. She was suffering from cancer and on her death bed. The doctors said that she was unlikely to see through the night. I stayed with her in hospital for a few hours while she was unconscious and gasping for air. As the night wore on I decided to stretch my legs and go downstairs for a bit of a walk. When I was downstairs I saw a TV room and decided to watch the New Year celebrations on TV. At this point I suddenly felt a strong and heavy feeling. It was indescribable and I fell to the floor on my hands and knees. I then decided to go back upstairs. When I got to my mother’s room she had already passed. The strange feeling must have been her trying to make some sort of last connection.

What can I tell you, Robert? Unless you personally experience this weird stuff you will never believe it's real. Those of us who have, in one way or another know that it's beyond the limitations that science and the scientific method have established. If you, one day, are lucky enough to be touched by this aspect of existence, I would be very interested to know your thoughts on it, because you truly will be "Closer to Truth".

Transcendental experiences basically have two sorts of effects/affects. 1 is you pull away from science and invest in spiritual observation and practice. 2 is you come to science with questions that science has no satisfactory answers for. I'm not saying it's one or the other just the two basic ways it goes. Robert would likely tend to favor the latter with a life time of investigation.

I know this is just testimony, but I've experienced it once with someone I was dating at the time. She had slipped on wet rock and almost fell off a cliff while we were hiking in Yosemite. After our little dramatic episode and on a flat part of the trail, we were walking while side-hugging each other closely, then all of a sudden I just had this sense that she knew what I was thinking, and then a second later she laughed and then said 'stop it' out loud, and then I asked what, and she said I could hear you. Then we laughed and continued hug-walking, and then when I couldn't help but continue to have scared thoughts of her dying, she said stop through the mind, and we laughed in our minds while being quiet and just hug-walking. Then we stopped hugging and just walked while holding hands, then looked at each other, and then confirmed (in actual conversation) with each other that we were hearing each others thoughts. It was unlike anything I've ever experienced, and we dated for about 3 more years after that but it never really happened again.

They would use this knowdlege to kill people were the body count would be higher than WWW2. Using ESP you kill a mass amount of people with easily, or imagine a serial killer getting his hands on this knowledge. He can kill and rape, woman childern as much as he please with out ever getting caught. Let me ask you this, if you had the knowledge how to awaken ESP would, you keep it to yourself or tell the whole world. If you would tell the world knowing what would happen, that would mean you are not a wise person. The people who tend to have ESP, are those who have spent, years doing meditation, and they develope high levels of wisdom before ESP abilities awaken. These folks are silent, they know the world is not ready to be aware of ESP.

At least two telepathic phenomena known as: "a sense of being stared at" and that of dogs knowing when their owners are coming home have no easy material explanation. Experimentation determined the reason dogs know when their owners should be home is the level of the owner's scent present in the atmosphere of the home. Dogs have 220 million olfactory receptors; wheres human beings have only 5 million. It's this difference that allows dogs to detect levels of scent more precisely than us. The dog associates the level of scent to when the owner normally comes home and anticipates the owners arrival. Dogs don't have ESP.

@Novak Ingood She was a young female, we were told to give our impressions while the subject would not deny or confirm until we stopped. 1. Closed my eyes and saw a grove of trees- she said she loved trees and had a tree tattoo. 2. I blurted out the word "ocean" and she said the the word popped into her head just before I said it. 3. Saw an image of a fish, she is a pisces. 4. Saw a desert scene with bright sun and long empty road. 5. Saw an older woman and said it may be her mother. She said her mother lived in the desert. Those were all the impressions I had.

@Novak Ingood I'm not a psychic, I think that latent abilities that we all have to a degree were enhanced at that meeting. I do challenge you to get someone who doesn't know you to guess 5 things right about your life to the same level of specificity as mine were. The example of coincidence that you mentioned could be an example of ESP that shows that it not that rare or special. If you are truly interested in challenging your skepticism, you should read any of the books by Dean Radin, who does scientific research on psychic phenomena. I read a few reviews of Radin's Entagled Minds, and there are hardcore skeptics who said that the book turned them around.

Over the years I saw that many of my ideas about what could or couldn't happen start to break down. Your to comment about Radin, which doesn't appear on YT for some reason, I'm sure you got from Wikipedia or other skeptic source. Wikipedia, which is totally controlled by drug companies, hardcore skeptics, and other special interests is totally corrupt. If you were really interested in making an unbiased opinion, you should read one of Radin's books as he provides all sources of experiments he cites and do your own analysis to see if they check out. I'm sure you won't as your mind is already made up.

@Novak Ingood The kind of skeptic I'm talking about are people who have a preconceived idea of what is or isn't possible, usually what could be called weird ideas or phenomena. At the least they will be closed to doing an unbiased analysis of it (confirmation bias) or at worst lie, distort data and use ad hominem attacks. They throw around the word science, but what they are doing is practicing a religion. Does any of this sound familiar? Have a nice day.

ESP could indeed be a totally different system: no physical mechanism, no mathematics, knowledge without information traveling, nothing tangible at all (however much it infuriates Robert). Perhaps ESP involves not only a new and diverse way of thinking but an experience that goes beyond thinking itself.

Of course, people will assume it was, but I was able to confirm it at least for myself. I think people experience various genuine phenomena that unfortunately cannot be verified by others, but are nevertheless true events. In my case, it involved a life-long friend - I heard (or became aware of) his statements before he vocalized them. His verbalized thoughts were like a stream I had access to before they left his mouth. Though this occurred many years ago, I still recall it quite clearly, because afterward, I replayed the experience over in my mind many times - i was astounded and mesmerized. Still am.

Ingo Swann gave what I consider to be the best insight into the inquiry about psychic abilities. Ingo was the chief psychic in the remote viewing program at SRI and one of the principle trainers for the Stargate program. He said that the very definition of the scientific method precludes it from being used to study psychic phenomena because the method is for studying matter. Physical matter and its epiphenomena. We need a new scientific method for studying phenomena that are not based in matter. And on a side note I take issue with the assertion that there's been no evidence produced for the existence of ESP and psychic ability. Not only do we have mass amounts of data showing at least moderate effect sizes, we have individuals who tested exceptionally well under controlled conditions. Call them the psychic All-Stars. I think the people like Alex Tanous are a model for the future of this research. He had one foot in the world of material science and one in the world of psychic experience. We need more researchers to develop their own abilities, and I would start every one of them with remote viewing because it has the most evidence supporting it and a training protocol that anyone can follow.

  • @dickrichard626

    3 жыл бұрын

Memories aren't actually a tangible "thing" though. They are a mental pathway that elicits certain thoughts that are related to your life experience which can range from fleeting or false to as if it happened yesterday. The non-physical part of Memory is instantaneous and mostly subconscious meaning that you aren't in control of it or really even consciously aware of it and it just works. It's Muscle memory and that is why you can do things on auto-pilot and get better at doing at things simply by doing them. Then you have The part of memory which your are directly involved in which is essentially your repertoire of your personal life stories. Not trying to be mean, but no one really cares about your stories. Humans are really good at caring about other people's life story not because, they don't care. I would argue that we are not capable of actually caring. We all want someone to be our friend. A friend that cares about what we have seen, things that happen to us good and bad. Someone who understands what we say and will respond with relevant information, encouragement, and empathy. The problem is that this person simply doesn't exist unless your friends with Jesus. Everyone wants a friend like that, but no one is willing to be that friend. Not normally at all really. IRL when things get too serious or you depend too much. Everyone bounces, every time. People only like hanging out when there is an incentive for them to do so. They like goin' along for the ride as long as they can benefit from it, but if something happens that diminishes their own personal happiness or requires too much time and effort. They won't ever stick around and care to hear your opinions about it later. It's perfectly logical though. Why would you want to spend time doing things you don't like to do or talking about something your not interested in, directly involved with, or effected by? One of the problems with the world is that many people are instinctively selfish in this way. People who have suffered serious trauma in their life very young be it abuse, illness, death of a loved one. get to grow up and society basically says: "Get over it, no one wants to hear it." Try talking about your physically abusive alcoholic father in a job interview. LMAO That is a joke, to be funny, but in reality it's not a joke and that actually happens sometimes and I'm sure even worse than that.

She did say something, it was just kind of hard to understand her. But her thinking on how many worlds are colliding together and how this will change us all was pretty insightful. The monopoly on knowledge that science has enjoyed in the western world is crumbling and we should all learn to adapt before we become relics in the new world that is rising. I've never experienced ESP so I can't tell if that's really a thing, but I've never experienced heart surgery either so I can't tell if that's really a thing. Sure, I can talk to people who have had heart surgery, and people who preform it and learn about it that way. But I can do the same with ESP. Truth is, most of my reality is based on ideas I have no first hand experience with and just accept as truth because it's part of my culture and it's mythology. If I had lived a hundred years ago I might very well be a Christian. If I had grown up in India I'd likely be a Hindu or a Muslim. And so on. People here give a lot of value to critical thinking, but if you really employ that then you'll know that nothing can be trusted outside of your own experience, and even that might not be as it seem. So there are limits to the usefulness of critical thinking. Just as there are limits to the usefulness of science. Science is great and all, but it can never be used to measure abstract concepts that we all agree exist, like thoughts and emotions or ethics and morality. We tend to think that when it comes to us life is better than death, so it's very easy for us to justify eradicate something that threatens our life, like a virus. But there is no scientific evidence that this is a fact, we might not be important at all, it's just an idea we have, a feeling. Same with consciousness, sentience, life in general, there might be nothing important or inherently good about any of these things, we've just decided that it is. Good and bad don't even exist from a scientific or materialistic perspective because these are abstract ideas based on feelings, but we tend to all have some idea of what is good and what is bad, so they're real things because we make them real trough a shared belief. And in that way you can say that anything is real within various groups. In a group where everyone believes UFO's are real they are real, it's real to them, and this belief alters their behavior which causes parts of this belief to manifest as real actions that affect the physical world. Even if Orthodox Christianity isn't real to me the consequences of it where very real and what happened during the Dark Ages still affects the world today and it's ripple in time will always exist. We would likely have been hundreds of years ahead of where we are now if not for the Dark Ages, and there is no way to take that time back so it will influence us for the rest of time. And the same can be said for any tiny alteration done by a single individual. So when so many different cultures and ideas are living as close to each other as they do today with the internet and everything this will influence how people think which will influence how they feel and how they behave which will influence how we build human society. So in the end what's real from my perspective might not be real from someone else's perspective, but that doesn't make it any less real. I think coffee is awesome, someone else might think it's garbage, both are true from different perspectives. Obviously most people aren't going to want to take away my coffee just because they don't like it so it's not a big deal, but a lot of other questions of "good and bad" have much greater implications, and how these end up changing our collective reality will have a great influence on the future of humanity and our societies, irregardless of if they're fitting into the box of science and materialism. Just go to India and you'll be walking into a world where spirituality, enlightenment, and even supernatural powers are very real to a great deal of people. You'll find people that will claim to have experienced these things for themselves all over the place, just like you'll find people all over the place that claim to have experienced heart surgery, but until you actually experience it yourself it's not part of your reality beyond being a belief system, a mythology. Imagine if you join a group of people that are sure aliens are visiting Earth, after a while you start to think maybe they're right, and the more into the mythology you go the more you start thinking there is something too it, and what if you then start seeing it for yourself? You essentially walked from one reality into another, both realities contained but hidden from each other within the same reality. Might work like this, we don't know, but there has to be some explanation for why some have experiences that others believe are impossible, and the scientific approach of psychology has failed at being an adequate explanation for these thing. Either way, when all of these different realities, or mythologies, collide it's bound to affect the future of humanity in ways we can't yet predict, so her point is valid.

Dear Robert, in order to understand what Dean Radin said, from a materialistic view, is absolutely fundamental to let go 2 aspects of our understanding of nature: 1- Mind-matter dualism is incompatible with darwinism. Darwinism means that we were once non-thinkers, so thinking cannot be something inherent of human kind (or ancestor). Abstract thinking is the ability to represent reality "outside" reality, and it is something created by man (for economic and protodiplomatic purposes). The mind is in the brain when considering the target of influences, outside the brain when considering the source of those influences. And it is only possible to exist considering both without causal-temporal order. 2- After realizing that, we need to understand that causality is not a property of reality, but only a property of the stories we tell about some arbitrary choosen parts of reality. Putting both together, we will understand what he meant about the relational character of reality. A good analogy would be the collapse of the wave function. It is not a fact, it is probability becaming influences on reality. Thansk for the great video.

Please understand that I am not being antagonistic, but am trying to make you think for a second. "The gap between macro and micro seems too vast" -- really? Second video in this line I have watched, but that phrase caught me off guard. Personally, I have no clue as to where the realm of ESP resides. I make no claims at all. Concerning the "gap" between the micro and the macro? Do you know anything about physics? (Serious question to make you pause.) The statement is comparable with isolating a lake producing the glass of water you drink, from the H2O molecules, or from the atoms, or from the spookier funky aspects of the quantum effects which affect the waves, particles, atoms, molecules, all the way to the lake in question. You can no more isolate the micro from the macro, without logically invalidating both. They are inherently part of the same mechanism, just viewed from two different perspectives. Neither exists independently from the other. The micro affects the macro, and vice-versa. To put it in another way, there is no such thing as "solid" when you consider that, in every case of "physical contact", it is just quadrillions of tiny fields interacting with each other. You never even touch the doorknob you grab in that purely physical sense of the word. The very concept is illusory in that context. Labelling something as "quantum" does not isolate it from the experienced and measurable reality that we experience daily. Everything that is real existed long before man ever bothered to wonder about it, let alone label it.

  • @khufu8699

Exactly. I have finally realized what is going on here. Our bodies have a certain resonance from each cell. This resonance connects us to the akashic and to each other and our spirit. Twins, naturally have a closer biological resonance with each other because of the DNA. So they pick up more easily "communications" with each other and signals can overlap. A medium, for example, has a wider tuning band naturally, so they can pickup other radio stations as well. Our unique resonance with our spirit is what has been known as the golden cord that can not be broken. Not sure how the ancients knew that. We can thiink of this in technical terms and can study it. It is discover-able from a science perspective. We need better tools.

Our bodies are measurement devices that I believe limit, or at least severely hamper, what we are capable of thinking about and understanding. As millions of years have passed, we have been given more and more measuring instruments within our bodies allowing us to better understand things around us for our survival. There was a concrete and definite time in the earth's history where "sight" and "sound" were not things that existed. Waves still had wavelengths, but they meant nothing without an entity that could parse it into something meaningful e.g. "this particular wavelength ("blue") often indicates water that might help me survive." Why waste energy or brainpower on something that doesn't help you? I can't imagine how it would be possible to understand the electromagnetic spectrum if you were an organism without ears or eyes. That had no relevance to your existence if you were a cell that just lived in a world of bumping into other small things so you wouldn't have needed to be able to imagine or measure waves. Could it be possible that there are properties that similarly don't confer any survival benefit and our brains just aren't equipped to parse some information that is passing through us every second? In "The Case Against Reality" by Donald Hoffman, he talks about how, from the standpoint of evolutionary game theory, there is a mathematical probability of zero that organisms will get selected for which are capable of seeing the entire objective truth of reality. He often gives the example of a computer desktop. What's on a screen is the representation of all the bits and circuits in the computer, and by just manipulating an interface, we can make it do what we desire without having to work with the millions of transistors. Imagine if you had to send an email without the monitor, flipping each of those millions of switches one at a time. You would never get anything done, and in the same way, we're just given shortcuts to things that affect our ability to survive and reproduce. What if all we have in our hands to measure is the monitor, and the computer itself is hidden away from us? I dislike any traditionally "supernatural" ideas like ghosts, telepathy, clairvoyance all that but I feel very safe in believing that there is nonetheless a layer that we don't have access to and it seems like there's really strange happenings in causality at times. Humans are bad at probability and all that, but I'd say at least once every two weeks, I see really bizarre similarities line up between entirely unrelated things. I was playing factorio a couple weeks ago while listening to an interview with Biden. In that game, you have to manage air pollution or you get attacked by alien bugs and at the precise moment I started building a wall around my base, I heard Biden give a metaphor to the interviewer that was something like "you can't build a wall high enough around your house to stop the pollution" on a subject *completely* unrelated to that. That type of thing happens constantly and I'm sure most people can point out similar things so it just makes me wonder if there are indeed hidden connections of some sort

The "presentiment" effect pioneered by Radin and Bierman years ago has in fact been multiply reproduced in other labs and is robust. Darryl Bem has found a related effect (though reproduction has not been as straightfoward). Other examples, such as the world wide EGG statistical project and retrocognitive remote viewing (including voluminous governmental data) have been shown to rise FAR above noise level, but just a thorough review of the presentiment data alone will be enough to break the spell of "no evidence" proclamations. The problem is in getting those with bias against (or fear of?) to slow down and fairly review the data and the replications without over-weighting the non-replications. This takes deep, patient effort. Cold fusion (aka, LENR) serves as an illustrative, parallel example - after the many rocks thrown, tar and feathers applied, pioneers wounded, the scientific community has now been forced to accept and study. There are many hide-bound physicists unhappy about it still, but that field is progressing now; new paradigms are worth the effort and courage required.

There’s a very simple test that you can take to prove ESP is real; Have you ever thought of a random acquaintance and then either got a phone call from them or ran into them? Your answer, I know, is YES. I’ve asked over 1,000 people this same question and NOT ONE has said no. Not one. Now you could argue that it is simply a coincidence. And yes, that’s possible, but when you bring statistics into it, it is more likely that there is some unseen connection. Statistics; think of all the people you know. And you thought of just one person. Let’s say you know 300 people. That would make it a 1 in 300 chance that the person you thought of would be the same one you had contact with. 1 in 300 isn’t that huge a stretch. But now take the fact I’ve asked 1,000 people the same question. Add those to the odds and it’s literally next to NO chance that it’s random.
