I really hate that this is the answer. You shouldn't be locked into iPhone to use a cellular apple watch. It should function completely independently of any other device. I have an iPhone, iPad and Mac...my apple watch is the only reason I'm worried about getting an android phone again and that really sucks and is anti-consumer!

I was really hoping Apple would be forced to open the Apple watch to other platforms after they were sued for having a monopoly on smart watches but they ended up winning the court case.

Here I’ll answer it for you. You can use it with a android I believe just the capability will be limited so you won’t get access to all the features and someone else with an iPhone has to set it up for you

No, there is if you have a older Apple Watch with your old phone and you’re transferring it, link it to your old phone and then erase your old phone in your Apple Watch will still be paired with no phone

No. If you have a newer cellular Apple Watch you can set up for a family member on your mom or dad or sisters iPhone. Type in your Apple ID and it will basically go off of the iPad. But don’t worry about getting to far away from the iPad it’s cellular. I hope I helped.

You can google it you have to need an iPhone to set it up but after you set it up you don't need your iPhone anymore
