Can an amateur do the Megavalanche?!
Watch an amateur do it! I slid down the glacier on my backside as its the only way that I could get down! We took part in the Ebike Megavalance Race. A brutal descent from 3300 metres at 20km in total, this is one of the worlds toughest downhill races. I was riding a Haibike AllMtn 7.5, Jon on the NDURO 6.0 and Andy on his own bike.
What an amazing bucket list experience!
Thanks to Haibike for sponsoring the trip. Here's our race day experience.

Had to ride out another 40k barely able to breath a normal breath.. while needing to take deep ones. Then I was back on the YZ in 2 weeks and did a barrel roll... but that was back in my 40's

Excellent video. I just found out about this race and have been watching several of the perspectives. Your video really illustrates how difficult the run really is. I didn't realise how steep it was until you stopped at the "broken rib" crash and you turned around and the camera view was really able to express gradient. Bonus points for the slide. Haha, loved it!

I think all mountain bike races should have an ebike class. They could have all the ebikers group start before or like 20 minutes after the regular riders so no one complains about them getting in the way or it's unfair etc. Of course the ebikes would have to meet certain power and top speed under power specifications. I think mid drives or front/rear hub motors should only be allowed and only one motor per bike.
