All dogs, including poodles, are pack animals and leaving one at home by itself invites problems as, by nature, they want to be with "others" and will get separation anxiety. Get two poodles if you can, preferably a male and female, and they will keep each other company. Our poodles were quick to learn and very bright (as far as dogs go) and I made it a point before my wife and I left to go shopping or whatever, to take a moment and kneel down in front of my two poodles and I would look each one in the eye and I tell them we were going out for a while but we would be back. I know this sounds really dumb but it worked - they felt acknowledged and would behave while we were gone, even if it were for an extended amount of hours.

Wow pets are very much smarter than people every thought of but I know that pets are very much like pets and people need to learn a lot from this video in my opinion because I don't have a poodle dog but my sister does and I am happy to see this video and share it with her

My male has always had a dog with him. If no one is there, and I have my other dog at the vet. He will go nuts. He is nine. He spent his first seven years with a senior dog. I could tell the senior dog didn’t have much time left. I got a puppy so they could bond before the older dog passed.

I agree with you. I loved my new puppy but I realized that I would be at work and she needed to adjust. She is now 11 months old. She loves her crate. She has no bad behaviors except she jumps at me. She does not jump at others. Also I have a seven year old dog and she really followed his lead. Poodles are a great breed.

I crated my female at night, my male let me know from the day he came home at night. He was sleeping on the bed with me.

my bf has a lab mix. she is so smart that she knows how to open doors, even locked. while my bf was at work, she opened his locked bedroom, locked apartment, and then escaped the apartment building (push door). she ran around the colorado mountains (which are super dangerous) for 5 days before we found her. now, she wears a $150 tracking collar and is crated any time she has to be left alone. she's a trained adult dog and has been left alone many times. none of us could have predicted she would have done something like that. now we prefer to be safe rather than sorry!

No dog should be left out in a yard unsupervised. That's a good way to get your dog stolen or poisoned

This is false! Not all landlords recognize this as they are more onto people taking advantage of this benefit who don’t really need it! It’s bull shit and takes away from the people who really do!!!

Please stop the promotion of the CRATE!!!! Poodles view their HOME as the CRATE!!! A cage inside a cage. Pathetic.
