I bought my poodle back in june 2023, the seller says it was a “miniature poodle” but i didnt really know the difference between mini and toy at that time, i just want a poodle thats not too big so i bought it. And yes at first it was getting tall fast, im pretty sure she was in a size of a full grown toy poodle at 5 months old and thought she will grow more Fyi : i did a little research between toy and mini btw when i bought her And now she didnt grow, only around 2-3cm since she was 5 months old. Shes 26cm from her head and around 18-20cm from her shoulders which is a toy poodle size?? She got the structure of a mini poodle, her head is small, long body, and a tall legs which looks like a standard poodle if it was small but she got the size of a toy poodle I love her but it just upsets me that the seller probably lied to me, i didnt see the picture of the parents she just told me it was a mini poodle female and cost £250. My dad says shes probably a mini poodle but just a little bit small from her kind, although her build is a mini poodle is it possible that a mini poodle can be smaller than a mini average size?

I like alot Your Poodle video, but when You next time do such good videos, put You recording volume little higher level, that it is easier to listen then ..and I have to remind You, that here in Europe, especially Nordic countries have 4 different accepted SIZES of Poodles: Toy, mini, ALSO MID size !!! and then standart big poodles. Hope You mention it in some next Your videos. I wish all good to You with those good videos and nice summer to You 🐩👍👍

Our Charlie (RIP) was considered a toy poodle. But his height and weight were in the "gap" between toy and miniature. A lot like Lambo. His coat was a mix of white with grey and black shading. In particular, he had a distinct grey streak down his back. People meeting him for the first time would say, "That's an unusual color, what is it?" I'd always answer, "Dirty Rug."

So cute I’m looking into buying another dog my current black lab suffers from separation anxiety she’s used to either having me by her side or another dog but we don’t want another large dog and we definitely don’t want another dog who’s going to shed the lab sheds enough for 3 dogs by herself 😂 I’d love to get another toy poodle but with a clumsy 2yr old 80lbs lab and hopefully a baby in the near future a toy is too small and delicate but the Miniature seems to be the perfect fit 🥰

Hey, you mentioned to avoid barking we have to train them when they are young, so when you recommend we should start there training? and what is the training type

We started all kinds of training with Lambo when he was a few months old, I believe he was 4-6 months. Poodles are very intelligent so they catch on quickly, we put quiet on cue, so we trained him to stop barking when we said quiet and he would get a treat. Training needs to be consistent, a lot of trainers also recommend first teaching your dog to "speak" aka bark so that you can also teach them the opposite "quiet" :) hope this helps!

My Tuki has a nearly exact situation! He weighs 11.3 pounds at 16 months. One parent was a miniature (12 lb), the other was a toy at 6 lbs. color of parents was white and red. I also wondered…. But didn’t dwell on it, as he is the 12th poodle I have owned.

I have a miniature and both parents are true minis but she some how is more toy size. She is 11 inches tall and 7.5 lbs. She just happens to be smaller than normal..

We tried to have him in cabin but for the airline we were flying with ; when they measured him they said he was a little over their limit and wouldn’t allow it 😫😫😩 he has long legs!

Sorry I missed this comment! We have been on flights with him twice! kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqKl1suunbjSmrg.html I’m not a fan of cargo but sometimes with international flights there isn’t a choice, cabin is a much better option!

i was wondering how to actually distinguish between the toy poodle and miniature one as a young puppy? i'm looking to purchase one next year and i'm cautious cause there was this other girl who was told hers was a toy puppy, but it turned out to be a miniature when it grew up

That is kind of what happened to us we were told Lambo is 100% toy poodle but he seems to be a mix of toy and miniature but we love him and think he is a PERFECT size not too small not too big but just RIGHT 😍 I am not sure how to distinguish them when they are puppies that is a question best suited for the breeders or perhaps some research online! Sorry! (they are both really tiny as puppies)

There are also Moyen Poodles which are the European version of a miniature. They fall in between minis and standards. Moyen Poodles are usually between 15 and 20 inches tall

It's not european version of miniature. It's different from mini, most european kernel club have 4 sizes, not the american 3 sizes.

My Poodle is 10 in all areas: weight , height and length. She was red-red when she arrived and is two and now apricot with darker ears and paws. She is a mini. I had a toy for many years and she had similar measurements but the two look different. And Mocha was more elegant while CeeCee is a prancer but more athletic.

If your poodle is 10 inches and weights 10 pound then it's a toy poodle. In contrast to the lady in the video who has a MINIATURE Poodle. I think the lady in the video really wants a TOY poodle. She should be happy with what she has an adorable dog!!!

We just got a poodle and hes chocolate in color. They said hes a mini, but we think hes a toy. Hes only a pup and really tiny. Ive never seen such a hyper dog. LOL. But hes so cut.

In the United States and Canada the teacup poodle is not consider a breed. All teacups are classified as toy poodles in USA and Canada.

I have eggsy looks 100% lambo.. Maybe eggsy the brother of lambo. Eggsy is from singapore and living now in philippines.

Aw cute 😊 no they can’t be brothers, Lambo is from China, but toy and miniature poodles can have a lot of similarities ❤️

Being out of standard doesn’t change whether you dog is a toy or a mini. If you bought a toy from a reputable breeder, and you dog is taller than the toy standard and more the size of a mini, he is still a toy, just out of standard toy. Same goes for large minis or small standards, they aren’t “moyen”

Well said, the standard is just a guide, if he is a toy regradless of 10-11 inches height, he is still a toy, just oversize toy

My dog is an in between ear too but is called a toy.

It's still a toy if you purchased him/her reputable breeder who knows both parents are toys. It's just an oversized toy but still a toy

Hahaha that is funny that a water dog (pudle- aka puddle aka poodle) hates water !!!! But yea we all have our own personalities and thank the lord for that

Poodles are toys if both parents are toys irrespective of height. Also most poodle colours fade as they get older. Usually reaching their final colour around 3 years old. My miniature poodle has three walks a day for at least half an hour each.

@@cloudyair7395 One was apricot and then turned more reddish/darker as he aged. The ones I have right now were both born white, now they are 4 and 2 years old and more creamy. My profile picture is my 2 year old male poodle. He is a lot darker than the female. I also had a black poodle, but the only thing that change there is that she got some grey hairs as she aged.
