    What if the dog is agressive to an owner when something isn’t going on his will? For instance, he attacks and bites aggressively if he puts something on his mouth outside and you want to pull it out and he attacks and bites. What to do in that case?

    It comes from having fun. Shredding things is a lot like popping bubble wrap. Substitution works to a point. Exercise works to a point, but at some time during the day, I’m going to sit and do some other work or stop looking at my delightful dog. A good leave it. And it’s a good thing he like being in the room with me and will obey me. At least while I’m looking.

    If you pay attention and know how to train a puppy, destruction of your household will not be an issue. I’ve got a standard poodle and he doesn’t destroy anything, including his vast array of toys.

    I disagree with not touching your puppy when eating, touching your puppy while they are eating and removing their food and giving it back can teach them not to get aggressive around their food otherwise they can be snappy if anyone comes close while they are eating, otherwise great video

    I have always had labs in my life and when my last lab went to doggie heaven a standard poodle puppy fell into my lap. Like Gail shared in earlier post they truly are like humans in a dog body. My Daphne is 10 months old now and every day she just amazes me! I absolutely had no idea how smart they truly are and so entertaining! She makes me laugh all the time with her crazy antics and how she tries to outsmart me. She keeps me on my toes and sometimes it’s hard to correct because she’s so darn cute! Like I said I didn’t have a clue about poodles but I totally adore this breed and would have a couple more if I could 🥰

    Poodles are the worst breed . They give you no privacy . And the one I had got plenty of walks and exercises every day. It just made things worse. ( Your video was good I just had a poodle that would not listen.) I had to give him away. It just was not a good fit for me or the dog. I find poodles to be goofballs and they look like chia pets to me..worst dog I ever had.

    The standard poodle is a human trapped in a beautiful canine body.❤. I had a black, male standard and he was very well behaved. I never had to create him. He never did tear up anything in the home. His training was so easy. Standards make wonderful family pets. Never did jump on anyone.

    None of this Poodle talk in the least relates to a Labradoodle even though a Labradoodle is half Poodle. I have one.

  • @700Laurels
    @700Laurels Жыл бұрын

    Labradoodles vary in temperament because they are mix of a Lab and a poodle...mixes can lean either way in a variety of areas, and to different degrees... therefore, some are more like Poodles than others, just like a first generation Labradoodle may have a wide variety of hair types, from curly to even straight coat. Yours may not have gotten a lot of the poodle temperament, mine however has the same temperament as her Standard Poodle father and acts just like what is described in this video. Her fur however, is a definite mix of her Standard Poodle dad and her Labrador mom.

    I grew up with miniature poodles (3) in our farm household - they were intelligent, attentive, and wonderful little companions. Dogs are VERY family oriented and love being with their people and ours would display separation anxiety whenever we left the house by tearing up tiny pieces from the toilet paper roll in the bathrooms. We would come home to hundreds of little pieces of TP spread around the bathroom floor - they wouldn't destroy the entire roll, just a couple of sheets hanging down. We learned to solve the separation anxiety by taking a minute to pay attention to them before we left home. I would get down on one knee and talk to them and say something like "we are going away but will be back soon" and believe it or not, this absolutely worked! I don't know if they understood what I was saying but on some level they felt acknowledged which resolved their toilet paper attacks. Hah!

    I had a mini poodle for about a year and a half now and i’m not having these problems. I think it depends on the specific dog itself as different dogs have different personalities. I love my dog she’s amazing !!
