I experiment with power-tapping a steel bolt with differant size taps.
So, the research I've done shows you need GOOD spiral point taps. 2 flute for the smaller ones, not 3, for chip clearance.
Maybe add a momentary switch and just bump the motor. Bump it in.
I think the RPM is just too much to tap.
I agree, and it was the slowest it could go.
