Lol we usually run the rpm alot faster than that ... faster you go the less pressure but harder to stop tho we just slam it in reverse at 250 rpm and every machine shop i asked about lathes and if you can slam in reverse is horrified at that lol

What stops the chuck turning in the tail stock ?

There is a tang ground into end of the taper.

Tbh if you need to ask, you shouldn’t be using a lathe anyway

I'm only here watching this for my own college work. Wondering if what we do at work is HSE approved lol.

I didn’t see any tapping of a hole. ???? I saw a very unfriendly teacher dictating how to drill a hole. I wouldn’t want to learn from him tbh.
