Can a Martin Imperial Trumpet really sound close to a Martin Committee??

BC Misc. Videos
Episode 2.
Here's a comparison video of a Martin Imperial (1950's) with the Double Reversed Tuning Slide to a Martin Committee Deluxe (1947). I think people will find this one quite helpfil.
Note - this instrument in the video is long sold - but I do have another (April 2019) if you are looking to get one just like it.
This video was shot in June 2018 in my apartment (so an older video) - just a Rode camera mic on top of a Panasonic G85. (You can hear a bit of camera shutter if you listen closely - this was before I knew about the firmware updates)

The commitee has a broader core, but I'd be happy with the imperial.

Near Identical, I also know the intonation on the Imperial is generally a bit more accurate, GREAT video Shawn

Pretty darn close for sure. I would always choose the Committee over the Imperial as it's more flexible overall - but this particular model of Imperial is on my Highly recommended list! Especially as they are less than half the price as you well know.

I agree Shawn, although I also believe that many players dont like their horns as slippery as the Committee is from a slotting standpoint. I think the Imperial is a great horn for a player that wants that Timbre and plays a little jazz, a little pop and and some legit.

That one sold soon after. I have a hard time keeping those horns as people who try them tend to buy them every time. Thanks for checking out the video.
