Calzone in an Omnia Oven
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
We made a sourdough crusted calzone in an omnia oven. Homemade sourdough crust made the day before, stretched to the dimensions of a gallon ziplock bag, marinara sauce, grated mozzarella, pepperoni, folded over on itself, looped into the omnia. Partner stove was set to a low flame for about 45 minutes, crust was done all the way through, but likely could have browned for a few more minutes.
Made while floating the John Day River from Service Creek to Clarno.

Thanks, the dough was relaxed enough to stretch, I think that helped.
That looked beautifully 😍 perfect. I'm seriously considering getting one for our Motorcoach. Firing up the large oven in the RV is too hot during most Florida seasons. That would be AWESOME for Game days! Great job on the cooking review.

Awesome, yes this is definitely something you want to share - it was too much for us (2 people), but delicious and fun.
Great idea to use that bag to roll out the dough
Too late but I have a free evening! Got on this site by accident but throughly enjoying it. Hi from Battle Ground.

Good tip, thanks!
Great video, I couldn’t take my eyes off the river scenery. I love my Omnia too. What was the spray please? Probably cannot get it in France. Thanks

There's some more river scenery in another of our videos, I agree the river is so beautiful! The spray was a bit of avocado oil. If it's not available I'd probably just pour a small bit of oil out and spread it with a paper towel to ensure good coverage.
Just got the Omni a with thermometer and think this will be great for our rv. We can’t take our bread mill or bread machine because of the space. We were thinking about making the dough before hand and put each batch in a zip lock bag and store in the fridge. Can we do that and how long can the bags last? Great information!

From my experience bags can last 2 to 3 days. After that we go with a dry mix and add water. Enjoy!
Looks delicious. Do you have the recipe for the Sourdough Crust?

I like the one here, it allows for a cold ferment, make it up the day before and then head out with it ready to go in camp: www.theperfectloaf.com/sourdough-pizza-dough-and-recipes/
