Here's a little something that may give older KZreadrs some classic shadofax96 vibes. While we were hoping that there would be some older equipment being used for these cleanups, these three trucks were also great to see before likely being retired or used as spares by now. So here are two of the newer style Amrep "Hardox" front loaders, both paired with an Autocar WXLL chassis. These trucks were previously used back when Calmet still had manual collection, as noted by the right hand drive feature. And yes, Calmet did actually use those buckets, with a very low loading height, for manual barrel collection routes.
Twice a year, the City of Lomita holds a cleanup week in the spring and fall. Residents place their bulkies and other hoarded junk at the curb on their regular collection day. The city also places temporary no parking signs throughout the routes, so the drivers have easier access to the piles. The County of Los Angeles holds an annual cleanup for the Oceanview - La Rambla - West Carson franchise area. All three little communities share the same cleanup day, which is assigned to a Saturday in the fall season.

Awesome you Should come to Philadelphia Pennsylvania on Fridays because thats our trash day They have rear loaders With McNeilus's, Heils,and Newways. The cabin of the truck they have Internationals, Freightliners, Peterbuilts,and Feuds. I think you would like those trucks
Shadofax vibes for real, I still go back to that Cargostar Top Pack vid. These trucks would really be a sight to behold on manual resi. The arms absolutely fly, and the curb side view of a RHD WXLL reminds me of the recyclers which were my choice of truck to follow as a kid. Plus the way that low Hardox body just matches the low WXLL cab, it's perfect. Idk about front load for bulk. I see one LABOS truck on occasion but mostly around me the city runs RL. Big cardboard boxes from furniture or at body shops give me trouble enough on route, I'd be frustrated climbing up the body tossing mattresses off the roof all day. Then again there's an extra layer of finesse required with the carry can as a crusher panel, could be fun. Either way loved the vid.

Awesome footage! I think I counted three trucks... 370 with the old style grille and Autocar emblem was my favorite! I think I heard it growl a little bit at times.
