I really like the ice tray organiser idea, I'd never thought of it before, its a great ghetto solution (and probably as good as any 'professional' solution) for keeping small parts together where you left them and at the same time minimising hydraulic fluid egress 👍 I'll trade you "use knitting needle protectors on your picks" to protect the tip if you drop it on the floor and so you don't accidentally stab yourself.

I wouldn’t put anything except DOT fluid on the seals. DOT is what lubricates the seals in this case, with shimano and magura it would be mineral oil. If you want to greatly extend the life of your brakes you should lube the oil seals at least once a year. A few tiny drops of braking liquid, corespondent to the brakes, per seal followed by “half-pull” tbe levers a dozen times to make sure everything is lubricated, then push the pistons into the brakes and wipe the brake clean with a little of alcohol. Preferably you will do this once or twice a year, when bleeding or changing pads.

I so wish I'd thought about the piston removal sequence before servicing my E4 brakes. It's really really important. Once one piston pops out you lose hydraulic pressure and you're left wondering how to remove the others. You definitely have to remove the pistons on the inside first - definitely.

nice tutorial. hope brakes are made with such quality they are so nice to work on . A pleasure to keep working well. I Got some Hayes Dominions on my new bike . People keep telling how good they are , they may be just as good if not better. They are however very ugly and don't have the same presence on my bike as the hopes. I will give them 1 month to impress me otherwise the hopes will be moving in.

@@Frorideism OK, all cool! I'm a bike mech from Munich, I'm doing DH Bike park hobby ride since 2011, spec. Demo 8, since 2017 with a Scott Gambler 710. But if you buy something from your store, it's always a bit cheaper, you know. So, no criticism about good, expensive bikes🤣‼️ But I have one question, how much did you spend on the complete hope bike? Of course, I like my Fox 40 Kashima, for the performance and the Optik! Or my Öhlins TTx 22m coil spring shock, 2014 for my demo 8 frame as well. But, for me, all bikes with original prices over 6 or 7 thousand € or $, are developing in the wrong direction. You take care about the clean shinning beautiful color parts of your bike. I'm glad and happy, when I return from a weekend in Leogang ( Austrian Neighborhood) or Geißkopf ( Bavarian bike park), without any broken parts. Bike parts or body parts. And because of that, it's not really useful, if all bikes costs 10000 or 12000 or 14000 €. Exept the bike company's, as long somebody is buying their expensive stuff, each year. But, that's my opinion about the price Politik. I also always like the newest and best stuff, but there should be some normal money amount enough 😂😂🤑😂😂😂😂
