    @@Frorideism The kit threaded into the old brake line, then I pulled it through from the rear. I connected the front part of the house then pulled it back through the internal routing. Super easy and worked first time. I've always run Shimano brakes, but these Hopes are better. I love the adjustability and the lever feel is amazing. It's really light and quick. No mush or sticky lever.

    @@tomcunliffe4311 I just went on Amazon and searched "bike internal cable routing tool". There are a bunch of different ones. I ordered a generic one with different adapters. Park Tool makes one but it was more expensive. It comes with a nylon cord that you can attach adapters to depending on what type of cable you are routing. I used one that threaded into the old 5mm brake line and also into the new hope lines. I just pulled the old cable out, with the new cable attached and then the new cables were routed. it was super easy.

  • @Frorideism

    @Frorideism

    Жыл бұрын

    The hope one's are easy - you just have to open it up slightly with a flathead and then clamp it together again when re-using. the shimano-sram ones which are solid are extremely hard to re-use so I wouldn't suggest that, since you'd most likely damage the olive in the process of removing it from the hose.

  • @Frorideism

    @Frorideism

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi, Yeah Iv'e heard some crap about Hayes too.. I'm going to put it like this, I don't regret buying the Hope E4's. The bike I was installing them on was a trail bike/DC and it has been working so well, and servicing is easy as heck, although they do need to be serviced every now and then because pistons get dry. (This can be fixed with silicone lube, instead of the method used in this video) With above said, I'm pretty sure that I will buy the new Hope Tech 4 V4 for my enduro when they become available. The E4's are really nice to feather, and modulation is awesome, but power is lacking slightly, so sometimes when I go at race-speed they will need me to grip the levers really hard which takes a toll on both hands and cornering abilities. Can't slow down fast enough. So a vote for YES on the hopes, but I would go with the V4 if racing. If speeds are not very fast, the E4's offers amazing modulation which is really nice. Hope this helps you :)

  • @Frorideism

    @@englishguy1985 Ah I see! I think Magura's and Hope are like polar opposites, Magura with a strong initial bite, and Hope's with a smoother bite and more modulation. Never ridden Maguras but I know people spec them on trial bikes for their rigid stopping power. XT's iv'e tried, and here the brakes are like in between, they work really well but the break bite reach usually wanders around so it's not as consistent and will often need some tinkering haha, some people change the fluid for something else ( can't remember the name now) and that seems to have fixed that problem tho. I think I would chose XT or Saints over Maguras tho. ..And maybe Hope's for the bling and for you: The nationalism 😁😆

    Do you know how to change one of the pistons on Hope Tech 3 V4 brakes ?

  • @Frorideism

    @Frorideism

    Жыл бұрын

    Miiiiister Bond! I have never done it myself to be honest, but I know you need to open the caliper up and do it in a certain order. The piston can only be replaced from the inside. I saw a quite good guide on it here on youtube a while back! If changing pistons I would also get new o-rings, And hunters silicone lube is recommended to use with hope brake pistons. Gl!

    Dab of super glue on the internal jointing pipe works well ans will not pull off just finished orbea occam like that with magura mt7pro front and back.

    You mean inside the hose? I would be scared that the brake-fluid would dissolve the glue and contaminate the fluid, but maybe that doesn't happen.

    @@Frorideism I wipped excess mineral oil magura blood actually off pipe ends as much as possible found a steel rod just big enough to slip into rhe ends about 1" snug with a dab of super glue on both and I could not pull them apart after a 2 mins glue Definitely bit solid the pipe would snap first. I started up the bike from the rear I had to snip the glued end off to length at the lever onve though the frame to separate the pipes. Just make sure you have a pipe longe enough to snip to length. Definitely works Iv done it. Now have magura pipe inside the frame. 👍. Ps I bonded shimano to magura hose no problem mitral oil didn't affect it.

    24hours later the glued end of pipe i cut off after threading new pipe is still stuck solid. No break down of the bond I can't pull them apart and I'm strong 💪 lol. Iv actually got away without bleeding as I followed the magura procedure for shortening pipe to length without bleed. Lever is same as before pipe ✂️ brakes ar very powerful now.

    Best to bleed! When I did this video I thought it became too long so I left that part out. But since you do open the system up when releasing the hose etc you will get some air in the system - bleed is good to do.
