California taxes and fees on vehicles, gas, and tolls is total BS. A vast majority of never goes to maintaining or improving the roads and freeways. So many people's tires get busted and their vehicles damaged due to huge potholes and poor road conditions, and Caltrans has been so corrupt in paying people out it's absurd that when channel 7 called them out on the less than 8% approval claims people made against Caltrans due to the road damaging their vehicles. Californians pay the highest sales tax and registration fees on vehicles, and the highest gas tax, yet our roads are one of the worst and it has to deal with graft and mismanagement. Again, TOTAL BS!!!!!

we have the HIGHEST gas prices in the nation, the highest gas tax and yet our roads are terrible and crumbling apart. Why did you all vote not to RECALL Gruesome? @@rw4022 My panels also power my house and I do not have a gas bill. When the power goes out I can keep going for a week on my home battery and I sell the power back to the grid. Its called true freedom. Also In 6 years its basically paid for itself. As for your experience. You either signed up with a scammer company, your roof was terrible or you are lying.

In an SUV a round trip from SF to LA is over $350 using Super unleaded. I drove my Tesla with free supercharging and my cost was $0. The hotel also offered free charging. If I had taken my 4Runner it would have been cheaper to fly.

@@rw4022 LOL, ok first off the cost to completely replace the entire pack is from $6,500 to $20,000 and falling. Second that last 25 years. If a battery is within its manufacturer warranty, typically 8 years and 100,000 miles, then you should get a replacement battery at no extra cost. In general you may have one part of a battery pack fail which costs about $500 to %1000 depending on maker and model. You do recover some of that by selling the batter for recycling of which 95% of it is recyclable to another battery

CA doing it's best to make this a state for the ultra wealthy/ homeless.

This is hardly newsworthy. Gas prices have always gone up prior to Memorial Day. Add to that the mayhem in the Red Sea and it should come as no surprise.

You can go across state line and find the exact same stuff for less. I have long suspected that prices are elevated here just because there is so much money sloshing around. "They can afford it" seems to be the cynical approach. Cheers

However refineries pay no taxes at all but can export all the oil extracted and processed in California for a profit.... have you never asked yourself why California has so many operating refiners? Richmond and El Segundo being two of the largest. As of 2022, there are a total of 32 operable oil refineries in Texas. 15 in Louisiana. By state Texas ........ 5,975,969 Louisiana ... 2,964,220 California ... 1,734,371 Vast majority of states produce less than 1000. U.S. ....... Total 17,684,549 There were 124 active oil refineries in the United States as of January 1, 2023 They have you so fooled you never questioned by the poor ill oil companies produce so much oil in horrib 'green' California. So much more that its more than every other state other than Texas and Louisiana.
