    If you want one, go here and search for Robotech products... you might find a few other things that tickle your fancy also www.bigbadtoystore.com/?ScorchedEarthToys. If you're not seeing an HD or 4K version, just give youtube more time to chug through the processing. Go here for the full article: anymoon.com/blog/?p=10731

    Harmony Gold love putting out everything.....other than an actual high-quality Veritech or Alpha fighter. They just prefer to go the cheap route and re-purposing dated, flawed designs, or slapping paint apps to existing toys. Good job....

    Heavy Assault Collectables do you know how big a 1/48 scale tomcat model would be.....also how much would you be prepeard to pay?....as things are these cost $140....(and the hunter version seems to have build quality issues)....if these were 1/48 i would say we would be looking at somewhere around the $200.00 price piont (or even higher)....no way i would pay that....im still having reservations buying them as they are due to the qc issues...it could just be his one but im not prepeared to pay that money for something that SHOULD be a lot better instead of being a 'rushed half arsed monday morning special'

    These really help to show the design influences the F-14 on the original Macross VF planes. Some angles almost had to look twice to see the differences.

    I bought the Skull version and I really like it. Some of the missiles and attachments don't fit on so well and tend to fall off if handled too much and the rear lower air brake flops down all the time. A shame of the few short falls but a great model all the same!

    Macross Zero is not part of Robotech though and this is being sold as Robotech (also, the MacZero Tomcat isn't in these schemes). Would love to see CW tackle a MacZero licensed Tomcat some day but I can't recall BW doing business with a company that does business with HG.

    An F-14 does appear in Macross Zero... but it's not in these paint schemes and this is a Robotech-branded item and there are no F-14s in Robotech or the original SDF Macross TV show. Hasegawa made a plastic model of a Macross Zero F-14.

    Mario CH interesting. The more original designs (which was taken from the 2011 game Ace Combat Assault Horizon) did not have air gloves though-as they were exclusively an F-14D model. Also more interesting note: Shoji Kawamori was involved in Ace Combat Assault Horizon-as a guest artist/mechanical designer. He also designed the game’s original fighter “ASF-X”

    Still, it should definitely be included in the video if it has them. That little "gimmick" is part of what differentiates the F-14A variant from the others--hence, essential.

    They did, but they're listed as "Type-14" in the official games--following the old Japanese convention of naming weapons. The MiG-29s of Macross Zero are also listed as "Type-29". I take it as a simple moniker to avoid potential lawsuits, though.

    Unfortunately, once you go Robotech you can't go back to Macross (for producers of merchandise). Since this product is licensed by Harmony Gold we'll never see a Macross Zero style Tomcat.

  • @TheRibbonRed

    @TheRibbonRed

    6 жыл бұрын

    Who's to say we'll never see a Macross Zero style Tomcat? The F-14 design itself should've been a Northrop Grumman-held license alongside the US Military, so Harmony Gold has no chance of holding that on their own. The only thing I'm seeing Harmony Gold holding from this release is the Hikaru & Fokker-styled F-14s. And honestly, it should've been grounds for lawsuit as the paint designs themselves are taken from the 2011 game Ace Combat: Assault Horizon (which was licensed by Bandai Namco). Too bad Kawamori doesn't care much about the franchises he created, which is why there's zero lawsuit battles with Harmony Gold.

    Hasegawa did the Macross Zero Tomcats years and years ago, it's just long OOP. Also, they used their old-tool (kind of simple build, raised panel lines) kit for it, rather than the new tool (three times as many parts, recessed panel lines). Also, the black smudges on the wings you were complaining about are a feature, not a bug - you should see the real planes, they got *really* dirty around where the wing entered the fuselage when swept... Edit: Also, the Yamato premium finish (the white one) has markings consistent with a real life aircraft, all those little stencils are realistic. The lack of stencils on the gray planes is not nearly as realistic...

    @justhatemeisrael6760

    6 жыл бұрын

    No but your strawmanning definitely is. In no way did I say that Flight mode alone warrants a 140$. In fact it's now a standard in 1/72 scale diecast aircraft replicas to have have "flight mode". I don't think you're really familiar with this industry because two of the other higher quality brands that makes F-14 1/72 diecast models also give almost the same price tag. This one is from Century Wings www.flyingmule.com/products/CW-001622 This one is from Hobby Master www.flyingmule.com/products/HM-HA5215 So as you can see this is a pretty expensive hobby. It's definitely not for the less fortunate. We can disagree about what it should be worth but then again how come a gemini jet 747 1:200 is also being priced at $140 when it's just a piece of metal painted in white www.flyingmule.com/products/GJ-G2NCA584

    viper21425 why would they? They don’t even have proper carriers. The reason why the Japanese are so fond of the F-14 was because the F-14s of the pacific carrier group often stop by East Asia (unlike now where it’s most likely to go ASAP to South China Sea). The US Navy certainly made sure to display their F-14s well, and not to mention that swing-wing fighters was a new thing for the common people at the time.
