you're not that big of a women basketball enthusiast if it took her to get you to tune in. Kim Mulkey and Dawn Staley were great players before they ever became coaches, Sue Bird / Diana Taurasi have been 2 of the best U Conn players Geno coached in the 2010s, S Carolina Lady Gamecocks dominance in the Dawn Staley coaching era, etc

That's beautiful! I'm a former teacher and it's great coming from a small town. I'm almost 60 & from time to time I still run into my teachers, coaches who impacted my life. I check on my kindergarten teacher who would spy on me in my teens. 😆 🤣 😂 I run into my former students & their parents. We get paid very little. But the joy of seeing your students prosper it the greatest reward! ❤️ 👍 🏆

It's because no women's basketball team ever gets much attention, regardless of their accomplishments. WNBA or collegiate. This attention started because of a classic "Great White Hope" situation. Everyone loves an underdog, but White Conservatives in particular want to see white people do well in basketball (because black people dominate the sport despite being only 15% of the population). Caitlin is a white, non problematic(to them that means doesn't make left leaning public comments), straight, Catholic, no tattoos, from the midwest, "girl next door" type. The thing is, they might be watching and supporting because they are bigots deep down, but the potential revenue from them can benefit everyone in the WNBA. Even the Black LGBTQ+ players that they dislike. Its a win for all the women players. Hopefully this can help the league as a whole get some higher pay.

Clark is not better than Maya Moore, Candace Parker, Sue Bird or Delle Donne coming out of college. She is popular because the media latched on because of the shooting range. When you really look at her game you realize it's limited. She can shoot and pass. She only shoots from the right side. She is only effective going right. She has no defense and can be neutralized by players with quick feet.

She doesn't just "put the ball in the hoop", she also assists, rebounds and steals. But yall haters don't think about that. And FYI Steven made a typo, that's supposed to say "she is one of the best players..." Stop being jealous of greatness.

Her rookie contract is the same salary as some entry level IT jobs, it's ridiculous. What she's going to bring to the league is going to change all of that. New fans/exciting games = more viewership = more sponsors/network TV deals = more money. She'll get paid regardless from a Nike deal and other endorsements, but her presents in the league will set a new precedence for what these athletes will get paid and that's huge going forward. She has the league on her shoulders and hasn't even played a game yet.

Most college grads would be happy making $80,000 out of college with no debt and it's only for the Summer and 36 games plus playoffs. That's why it can't be compared to the NBA. Even when the game grows, she might not make more that $1 million a year and that's if she's a superstar.

Done of the WNBA players jealous of her but they Don't realise when their team plays her team the Fever those stadiums might be sold out so they should appreciate it and not get too jealous. Now is the time for them to get noticed too so appreciate she is selling out stadiums.

Caitlin Clark is a great person. We all could follow her thoughts that she uses on herself. Play the game. It's a game so keep smiling and enjoy it. Focus on your own game and not on the referees or the game of the opponents. You stand tallest when you know who you are and what you bring to the game. I wish politicians would live like this.
